Aly Raisman Gets Candid About Her Struggle With PTSD

Aly Raisman is opening up about dealing with PTSD.

The 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist took to Instagram to share her thoughts after a particularly difficult therapy session.

“I feel completely drained as if I just completed an intense training session. My body aches,” Aly wrote.

She continued, “Some days I feel like I am moving forward and then the next day it feels like 3 steps back. Sometimes when I feel like I am beginning to heal from one part of my trauma, another memory pops up. When this happens I feel so sick that it is hard to have an appetite and it is hard to sleep.”

Aly concluded with a note to anyone who is experiencing the same thing.

“I hope you know you’re not alone & no matter how hard the PTSD gets we won’t feel like this forever. Sending a hug and love to anyone who needs it…I stand with you,” Aly concluded.

Aly Raisman Speaks About Rediscovering A Deeper Goodness at Time 100 Next 2019 Event

Aly Raisman steps out in a chic black dress with a snake adornment for the 2019 Time 100 Next event held at Pier 17 on Thursday night (November 14) in New York City.

The 25-year-old Olympian is one of the many that were recognized at the event, and she took the stage to speak to the crowd, urging them to look inward.

“When my faith and others were shaken I looked inward,” Aly shared on stage, before opening up about her own experience in coming forward during the USA Gymnastics scandal with Larry Nassar.

“[It was] difficult and scary,” she said, [but once she] pushed past the self-judgment and fear, [I] rediscovered a deeper goodness.”

Aly Raisman & Sharna Burgess Helped To Inspire Bo Peep in 'Toy Story 4'

We’re so stoked to see Bo Peep back with the gang in Toy Story 4.

However, she’s been through quite a lot since being donated in between Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3.

Revealed earlier this month, Bo Peep is back for an all new adventure and with that, came with some redesign.

The new porcelain character was inspired by a handful of your fave celebs, including gymnast Aly Raisman and dancer Sharna Burgess.

Bo’s “personality, movements, and overall aesthetic, they took inspiration from Rey (from Star Wars), Dottie (from A League of Their Own), [and] The Bride (from Kill Bill)” too.

Since she’s made of porcelain, too.

“Animators took special care and paid attention to the glaze she would have and all of the subtle cracks that appear in ceramics.”

So cool!

Toy Story 4 is out this summer.

Aly‘s new collection supports Darkness To Light, a non-profit committed to empower adults to prevent child sexual abuse, and 15% of sales going back to the non-profit (up to $75K) in support of Aly’s #FlipTheSwitch initiative.

Aly Raisman wears a cute floral dress to the 2019 A+E Networks Upfront held at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Wednesday night (March 27) in New York City.

The 24-year-old Olympian has a documentary coming to Lifetime in 2020.

Aly teamed up with Leah Remini for the project, titled From Darkness To Light.

The project sees Aly helping victims of sexual assault find their voice in order to start healing and turn from victim to survivor.

Aly Raisman Is a Game Changer at People's Choice Awards 2018

Aly Raisman waves to fans as she poses on the red carpet at the 2018 Peoples’ Choice Awards held at Barker Hangar on Sunday night (November 11) Santa Monica, Calif.

The 24-year-old gymnast is nominated in the Game Changer of 2018 category, and she will also take the stage as a presenter.

Earlier in the week, Aly sent a message to the gymnastics community after multiple arrests and indictments have been made the couple weeks in association with sexual assault.

“I believe this is a significant step forward that is necessary for the overall health and well-being of the sport and its athletes,” she wrote. “Change is not easy, and the unknown can be scary, but we need to do whatever it takes to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. There are so many amazing, talented, and kind-hearted people in this sport, and it’s time for them to lead us into the future!”

Kristine Froseth steps out in comfortable sneakers for the CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund 15th Anniversary Event at Brooklyn Navy Yard on Monday night (November 5) in Brooklyn, New York.

The 22-year-old actress, who will be playing Alaska in Hulu’s upcoming Looking For Alaska series, got silly on the red carpet with designer Diane von Furstenberg before heading inside the event, along with gymnast and speaker Aly Raisman.

The annual event names a list of top emerging designers and one winner and two runners up are chosen from a shortlist of 10 promising designers to take home a handsome monetary prize.

This year, winner Pyer Moss will receive $400,000 and the runners up get $150,000, in addition to receiving a year of mentorship.
