Ashley Tisdale & Jean-Luc Bilodeau's 'Carol's Second Act' Cancelled After 1 Season

Sad news for fans of Ashley Tisdale and Jean-Luc Bilodeau!

Carol’s Second Act has been cancelled by CBS after only one season, Deadline reports.

The show, starring Patricia Heaton in the title role, followed a woman who embarks on a unique second act after raising her children, getting divorced and retiring from teaching: pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.

At age 50, Carol is a medical intern and must sink or swim with peers who are half her age. It’s her enthusiasm, perspective and yes, even her age, that may be exactly what will make her second act a great success.

Ashley played Carol’s daughter, while Jean-Luc played a fellow intern and Ashley’s potential love interest. It also starred Ito Aghayere, Sabrina Jalees, Lucas Neff, Cedric Yarbrough, and Kyle MacLachlan.

Ashley Tisdale is getting ready to release some new music!

The actress/singer/producer shared artwork with the word “Lemons” on her Instagram page.

“🍋🍋🍋 #comingsoon,” she captioned the post. Fans then flooded the comment section with more lemon emojis.

Ashley‘s new music announcement comes just one year after releasing her first album in years, Symptoms.

“Wow I can’t believe a year ago @symptoms was released. Still to date the most personal and vulnerable project I’ve done,” she shared on Instagram. “I’m so proud of this album and sharing my journey with mental health. It opened up a conversation that I get to have with friends and fans and hopefully made some people feel less alone. I know in these times we can struggle with these feelings especially being quarantined at home but put some music on dance like no ones watching and feel the comfort that we’re all in this together and we will get through this! Love you all”

Watch the 'High School Musical' Cast Reunion from the Disney Family Singalong!

Zac Efron joined the High School Musical cast on the Disney Family Singalong on Thursday night (April 16), though he sadly didn’t sing with them.

The cast reunited to perform the smash hit song “We’re All in This Together” from their own homes. Zac is supposedly quarantined in the “middle of nowhere” with poor WiFi, but he sent in a grainy video that served as an introduction to the performance.

Director Kenny Ortega brought together Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman, and Corbin Bleu, as well as the casts of Descendants, Zombies, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and more, for a great performance.

“Hi everyone, I hope that you’re safe and that you’re healthy and that you’re doing as well as possible during these unprecedented times. It’s my greatest pleasure to introduce a musical performance by some of my oldest friends, and some new ones. I hope that you enjoy, and remember, we’re all in this together,” Zac said. He unfortunately didn’t sing with the cast, but you can watch the performance below!

There’s another Wildcats reunion happening and we can’t wait for it!

Kenny Ortega will reunite with High School Musical stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel and even Zac Efron for the upcoming Disney Family Singalong.

Kenny Ortega opened up to Deadline about the reunion, which follows their Zoom call that happened over the weekend.

“I wanted to find something I can do to participate and it was so great to be given the call and invited by ABC to join,” Kenny shared. “It gave me a purpose to get up every morning. I feel really good that we have an opportunity to do something like this — it’s good medicine.”

He added about Zac‘s participation, who will appear in a special video message: “We couldn’t reach Zac until late but when we did, he immediately jumped in, of course. Everyone we reached out to was quick — and you’ll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes. They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast.”

The Wildcats are expected to be performing their signature song, “We’re All In this Together” on the program.

The Disney Family Singalong is slated to air on Thursday, April 16 at 8/7c on ABC.
