“I think he would be beyond proud. I think he would just be blown away because he was always sort of the one in front of the camera. And I know there are a few times, for example, that he would pull me in, in front of the camera for anything, and I couldn’t speak at all. But he’s kind of coming through me, right now, in a way that I think is incredible,” Libby explained to People.
She continued, “We just have an incredible amount of responsibility to move the needle on the epilepsy front and bring it out from the shadows…We’ve been very surprised and pleased at the reach we’ve been able to have in speaking about epilepsy. We really had no idea that we could impact lives with our voices. Cameron did that. We didn’t do that. Nope. And so, we kind of jumped in feet first and we, just speaking about him and his impact on this world and what we’ve learned about epilepsy since he passed, I think has made a difference in many people’s lives in this world.â€
Dove Cameron just revealed that she got a brand new tattoo recently, and dedicated the new ink to her late co-star and friend, Cameron Boyce.
During a new “Day in the Life” video with Vogue, the 23-year-old actress was actually heading to get the new ink which would turn out to be a rose stem in the shape of a pistol.
“I wanted to get a pistol or a revolver or some type of firearm but I want it to be a single rose or a little bouquet coming out of it. I’m very anti-gun and very pro-gun regulation. It’s [the rose is] a nationally recognized symbol for peace and for anti-gun movements.”
Dove added that the tattoo is also dedicated to Cameron as part of his Wielding Peace movement.
“He did his [portrait for the movement] with a bouquet of flowers and I think that’s really beautiful,” she shared. “I’d been trying to think of a tattoo to get for him since he passed and I felt that this one was really appropriate.”
Cameron Boyce‘s parents are sharing more information about his medical condition before his untimely passing earlier this year.
Victor and Libby Boyce sat down with NBCLA in hopes to bring awareness to SUDEP – Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.
“Cameron was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 17-years-old. He had a total of five seizures in the time between being 17 and when he passed. He had his first seizure when he had some friends sleeping over. It was early in the morning and they witnessed him,” Libby explained.
She went on to say that Cameron quickly recovered after the first seizure but doctors could not figure out the cause. After his second seizure a year later, he was officially diagnosed with epilepsy.
Victor added, “His cause of death was Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy…Two months after he passed, that was the first time I had ever heard of SUDEP.”
The couple hope that The Cameron Boyce Foundation will help further educate people about epilepsy and encourage research on the condition as well as provide support to the family of those affected.
