The 24-year-old takes on the titular, iconic role in a new retelling of the classic.

Camila Cabello's 'Cinderella' Movie To Premiere On Amazon's Prime Video!

Camila Cabello is heading to Prime Video!!

It was just announced that the 24-year-old singer’s upcoming movie Cinderella has been acquired by Amazon Studios, Deadline reveals.

This is Camila‘s feature film debut, where she was also integral in the music aspect of the movie. Cinderella will feature pop songs from contemporary artists as well as original music from Camila.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the movie will be coming to theaters on July 16th, but with it moving to Prime, it’s uncertain if that date will remain the same. Stay tuned for more details!

Cinderella also features quite an all-star cast – Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, Maddie Baillio and Nicholas Galitzine.

Kay Cannon wrote and directed the movie, which wrapped filming in October 2020.

Brandy & Whitney Houston's 'Cinderella' Movie Is Finally Coming To Disney+!

It’s finally happening – Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is heading to Disney+!

Fans have been waiting and begging for the musical, starring Brandy and the late Whitney Houston, to be added to the streaming service and their wishes are coming true.

In the movie, when Cinderella’s cruel stepmother prevents her from attending the Royal Ball, she gets some unexpected help from her Fairy Godmother.

The 1997 televised musical event, directed by Robert Iscove, earned seven Emmy nominations, and features a beloved soundtrack, which includes the songs the iconic “Impossible,” as well as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” “A Lovely Night,” “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?”

It originally premiered on November 2, 1997 to sixty million viewers during “The Wonderful World of Disney” on ABC, and also stars Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Natalie Desselle Reid, Bernadette Peters, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander, and Veanne Cox.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will begin streaming on Disney+ at the stroke of midnight on Friday (February 12)!

Camila Cabello's Upcoming 'Cinderella' Movie Gets Pushed Back a Few Months

Sad news for Camila Cabello fans – we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for her Cinderella movie!

The 23-year-old singer is set to star as the iconic princess in a new, music driven film.

Cinderella was originally slated to be released on February 5th, but after the pandemic delayed production, and theaters are still not open, Sony has moved the date.

“Your invitation awaits. ✨ #CinderellaMovie comes to theaters July 2021. 👑,” the movie’s official Instagram wrote.

The new release date is set for July 16th. Sony also moved the dates for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, from June 11th to November 11th, and Tom Holland‘s Uncharted, from July 16th to February 11, 2022.

Camila Cabello Credits Jennifer Lopez For Being Able To Star As Cinderella

Camila Cabello joined Jennifer Lopez for a new episode SOMOS Radio hosted by Christian Acosta on Apple Music!

During the podcast, the 23-year-old singer gave credit to the 51-year-old entertainer for paving the way for girls like her.

“I feel like there’s stuff that I don’t want to say, because I don’t want people to know yet. But in the interview when I wrapped Cinderella, they were talking about what does it mean for you to be a Latin Cinderella? And I said your name in that interview, Jen,” Camila said. “I was like, ‘If it weren’t for people like you, I wouldn’t be able to do that.’ You trailblazing in movies and being a musician that did both and did all of it, that’s what made that possible for me.”

Camila also teased that they’ll be singing a JLo song in Cinderella!

“And it was one of the best experiences of my life. And actually, we sing one of your songs in the movie,” she dished. “To be honest, I shouldn’t have said that, but whatever. I’m here, I got excited, and I did. I’m not saying which one. I’ll tell you after.”

“Don’t tell me after. I want to see it. I want to see it for the first time and be blown away. I can’t wait,” Jennifer replied.

Camila Cabello‘s new movie Cinderella just got an exciting update!

The film’s studio, Sony Pictures, just updated the movie’s official social media pages with the official new logo.

“Get ready for the musically-driven, bold new #CinderellaMovie 👑 🎶 featuring global artists and original songs performed by @Camila_Cabello, @TheeBillyPorter, and @IdinaMenzel. Coming soon to theaters. ✨,” they captioned the pic.

The movie also got it’s own page on the Sony Pictures website, with all the latest information you may need, including all of the movie’s official social media handles and hashtag.

Cinderella was written and directed by Kay Cannon, James Corden serves as one of the film’s producers, and it stars Camila, Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Nicholas Galitzine, Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan.
