We have the first set of photos from the Powerpuff pilot!
The potential new CW series stars Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet and Yana Perrault in the title roles, and they were seen filming on Wednesday (April 7) in Atlanta, Ga.
That day marked their first day of filming the pilot, as director Maggie Kiley marked on Instagram.
She shared a photo of a chair with the logo, writing, “day 1! â¤ï¸ðŸŒ¸ðŸ›ðŸ’šðŸŽ¥ #powerpuffgirls #powerpuff”
The upcoming pilot will follow “the trio, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes. Now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crimefighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?â€
In a new interview, Dove shared just a little taste of what fans can expect.
“I’m so excited to be in jeans and a little blue tank top and then levitate and zoom out of a window. Please. Fighting monsters? But also specifically getting to play the Powerpuff Girls. I grew up without cable and I even knew what the Powerpuff Girls were. I’m a freak for them,” she told Nylon.
“Diablo [Cody]‘s vision for it is so crazy,†Dove added. “I can’t tell you too much about it, but it is so exactly what you would want. It’s mental.â€
She also added that it was torture finding out she was cast and not being able to tell anyone yet.
“After I got cast, I had to wait a week before the news came out, which was an excruciating week because I’m such a fan of the cartoon. It was so hard not to talk about it,” Dove shared.
The 25-year-old actress and singer just released her new song “Lazy Baby” and some thought it might be a diss track towards her ex.
Some of the lyrics include, “Killing myself, just to give you life / And you don’t even care / Laying there taking it easy / But that’s not fair,” and “Lazy baby, I ain’t playin’ (Huh) / Time to get up (Ooh-ooh) / Ain’t measuring up (Ooh-ooh) / Get gone / Uber lady’s outside waiting.”
In a new interview about the song, Dove confirms that the song actually helped her handle their breakup, and it’s not about him directly.
Dove Cameron doesn’t “give a f–k” in her just released music video for her new single “Lazy Baby“!
The 25-year-old actress and singer has been teasing the song and video for weeks, and we are so excited it’s finally here.
In the video, Dove can be seen wearing multiple different looks, and even rocks red and black hair. Towards the end of the video, she flirts with someone off camera before running into a man’s arms and kisses him.
The mystery man in the video is singer Alexander Glantz, who goes by Alexander 23 professionally.
Sources tell JJJ exclusively that Dove and Alexander are not officially a couple, but they are seeing each other right now.
“Alexander was actually cast as the love interest in Dove‘s video and they met for the first time on set,†the source told us. “They’ve been casually dating for the past month and a half, though it’s not official just yet.â€
It was just revealed that the show is finally becoming available to stream on the service on April 23rd.

For the past six years, it captivated young viewers and grew to become among Disney Channel’s biggest entertainment franchises ever.,” Disney Channel president Gary Marsh said in a statement. “It had the benefit of immensely talented stars, who we now welcome back for this animated ‘Royal Wedding’ special that will bridge the audience to what we hope will be a new chapter of compelling Descendants stories and characters yet to come.”
