Sabrina Carpenter's 'Skin' Lyrics Match Up to Lines From 'Girl Meets World'

Some of the lyrics in Sabrina Carpenter‘s new song “Skin” are getting major attention!

While many speculate that the song is a direct response to Olivia Rodrigo‘s track “drivers license,” the 21-year-old turned down those rumors in a new Instagram post where she directly mentioned Olivia‘s song.

Now, a viral TikTok video is pointing out that some of the lyrics in both of their songs actually line up almost perfectly with some lines from Sabrina‘s Disney Channel show Girl Meets World.

The episode in the video is from season one, titled, “Girl Meets 1961,” where Cory gives the class a living-history assignment.

In the episode, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) reads from a poem called “The Girl With The Long, Blonde Hair.”

“We could have been friends, maybe in some other life,” she says.

Sabrina starts off her song with the line, “Maybe we could’ve been friends, if I met you in another life,” and in Olivia‘s song, she mentions “And you’re probably with that blonde girl.”

August Maturo Looks Back On 'Girl Meets World' 5 Year Anniversary

August Maturo is remembering when Girl Meets World first started!

The 11-year-old actor of course starred as Auggie on the Disney Channel series, which premiered five years ago on June 27th, 2014.

“I remember when we first started this show, and no one had seen it yet, and our creator Michael Jacobs (his birthday is tomorrow, btw) told us ‘One day you will all grow up to be big stars, and you will forget all about this show. And maybe one day you’ll open up a drawer and see the DVD’s of ‘Girl’ and you’ll pick them up & remember this time in your life as a happy one, and you’ll know you created something special. Something you can be proud of,’” he said.

“We see all of your posts and messages today about the 5 yr anniversary of #GirlMeetsWorld & what this show meant/means to you guys. We see you and we are grateful. ❤️#5yearsofGirlMeetsWorld,” August added.

Sabrina Carpenter Reflects on 'Girl Meets World': 'It Helped Me Address Issues In My Own Life'

Sabrina Carpenter is making us get all sentimental right now after reading her new interview with Hero magazine.

The 19-year-old singer and actress took a look back at her time on Girl Meets World and opened up about how it made a big impact on her life.

“As I read a lot of the scripts I’d think, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going through this’, so it also helped me address issues in my own life,” Sabrina shared.

She continued, “Also, the show was based on historical moments because in each episode we would tie in to a time in history when a similar situation happened between people. So, we got to cover bullying, religion, autism, feminism, broken families and broken homes…”

Sabrina also found out through the show that each episode was impacting her fans in an amazing way.

“I can’t tell you how many teenagers came up to me and told me, ‘My mum left when I was seven years old, and you’re the only character on television that I can relate to,’” she remembered. “For me it made a great impact knowing that the stories we were telling were being heard by the people who needed to hear them.”
