'The Flash' Season 7 Premiere Kicks Off Where Season 6 Left Off - Find Out What To Expect

The Flash‘s seventh season is finally here!

The new season premieres TONIGHT (March 2) and picks up right where we left off at the end of season six.

In “All’s Well That Ends Well,” when an experiment to save Barry’s (Grant Gustin) speed backfires, Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh) searches for a way to save The Flash and comes up with a dangerous plan. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) makes a startling realization inside the Mirrorverse and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) faces off with Rosa Dillon (Ashley Rickards).

Hours before the premiere, Grant took to Instagram to share a special note with fans, and he also mentioned that the first few episodes of the new season are what were supposed to be the end of the previous season.

“We’ll be picking up with what should’ve been the final three episodes of season 6, 2 of which had been almost entirely completed since last March. I hope everyone enjoys season 7!” he wrote.

Tune in to The Flash TONIGHT (March 2) at 8pm ET/PT on The CW, followed by a new episode of Superman & Lois, which just received some great news!

Grant Gustin Shares Special Message Ahead of 'The Flash' Premiere: 'I'm Super Proud'

Grant Gustin is looking forward to the season seven premiere of The Flash TONIGHT (March 2)!

The 31-year-old actor took to Instagram hours before the season kicks off and shared a little message for fans.

“Season 7 of The Flash finally premieres tonight after being off the air for the longest stretch of time since we debuted over 7 years ago. I’m super proud of the entire cast & crew for getting through the season up to this point,” Grant wrote.

“We’re currently in the middle of episode 711, and as most things in 2020 and 2021, it’s looked and felt a little different this year,” he continued. “It’s not always easy to be shooting a tv show in the current state of the world and under certain restrictions, but I feel really lucky to not only have a job, but to have something familiar to channel my energy into. I know we’re closer to the end of this journey than we are to the beginning and I’m trying to enjoy it as much as possible.”

He also confirmed that the first few episodes were mostly all filmed before they shut down last March, and they’ll wrap up the season six storyline.

“We’ll be picking up with what should’ve been the final three episodes of season 6, 2 of which had been almost entirely completed since last March. I hope everyone enjoys season 7!” he wrote in the end.

Grant has had a couple of big announcements in the last couple of weeks, from announcing he’s going to be a dad to revealing a new movie project!

Grant Gustin To Film New Movie In Between Seasons 7 & 8 of 'The Flash'!

Grant Gustin is keeping busy after the current season of The Flash!

It was just announced that the 31-year-old actor will star in the real life drama Rescued By Ruby, THR reveals.

Grant will play Dan, a state trooper that dreams of joining the K-9 search and rescue team, but no one will give him the chance.

Here’s a synopsis: Shelter dog Ruby dreams of having a home but is running out of hope. When fate brings Dan and Ruby together, it’s their unshakable bond that helps them face their toughest challenge yet.

“Excited to get into this between seasons 7 & 8 of The Flash this hiatus. Thankful for the opportunity,” Grant shared on Instagram.

Katt Shea is set to direct, with a script from Karen Janszen. The movie is based on the short stories “Ruby: A Dogwink Story” and “Dogwink Ruby.”

If you missed it, Grant recently showed off his buff new body transformation, a week after revealing he’s going to be a dad!

Grant Gustin Really Beefed Up In Between Seasons of 'The Flash' - See His Buff Bod!

Grant Gustin is showing off his body transformation ahead of the season premiere of The Flash!

The 31-year-old actor shared a side-by-side comparison of how he looked in season six and how he looks now, and opened up about how anxiety and depression played a part in how he looked.

“A little progress report from last season to this season. About 7 months ago I finally decided to break my cycle of not taking care of myself as well as I should,” Grant wrote. “As many of you may know, I’ve had anxiety and sometimes depression for as long as I can remember. Over the last 7-10 years or so as I’ve been more of a ‘public figure’ and had a busier schedule, my anxiety only got worse. It has always had a terrible affect on my appetite and just motivation in general.”

“Covid and the time to just be alone with myself a lot more really helped kickstart wanting to be a better me,” he continued. “That’s included eating better(and more), working out, daily meditation, and just trying to be more present and happy with who I am. It’s honestly one of the reasons you’ve seen a lot less of me on social media. For me personally, spending a lot of time on here can be like a black hole. It’s not usually the best use of my time or the best thing for my mental health.”

“I will always be a work in progress, but I’m proud of myself for taking steps I wish I could’ve taken a long time ago to be a better version of myself physically and mentally – not only for myself but also for the people around me. All this to say, around episode 2 or 3 of season 7, Flash is gonna have a little bit of beef on his lanky frame. But more importantly I feel much happier and more present than I have in a long time.”

If you somehow missed it, Grant recently made the exciting announcement that he’s going to be a dad!

Earlier this week, Grant was spotted on set of The Flash in full Flash costume. See the pics here.
