Netflix made the announcement on Saturday (December 7) via an creepy video, which they captioned, “Knock knock knock on the gates of Hell…On January 24th, she’s back.”
“Welcome to hell,” an eerie voice says as smoke disperses to reveal a cloaked figure…
During an interview with THR, the 19-year-old Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Let It Snow actress opened up about how her character in the latter Netflix project sings and she shared that she actually loves it.
“I will literally jump at any chance to sing on camera,” Kiernan shared. “It was so fun and honestly a really big draw for me was doing this number because I love the song we were singing, ‘Hold the Moon.’”
Kiernan adds, “I also think it was such a different sort of way to approach a musical bit. It was something that I hadn’t seen in a really long time. It kind of reminded me of Once or something like that. It was very stripped-down and poignant. It wasn’t big or flashy. It was just a really grabbing moment in the movie, which I really loved.”
“I feel like it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, let’s break out into a musical number.’ It was just a really lovely, lovely moment between two friends that shows the honesty and love in the relationship between The Duke and Tobin before JP shows up and sweeps her off her feet,” she says. “With the number, we didn’t want to feel taken out of reality or something like that. We didn’t want it to feel like, ‘Oh, it’s not really happening.’”
The web series is a mini-spinoff of Nailed It, where stars of Netflix’s shows and movies test their baking skills and copy picture perfect holiday treats.
The series celebrates the iconic baguette and its link to friendship with the 20-year-old Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star and her BFF director Christian taking in all the sights of Rome, and having their own Roman Holiday.
Kiernan and Christian are pictured picking up some gelato, tossing coins in Trevi Fountain, and exploring FENDI’s Palazzo Della Civiltà Italiana, where they play along its arches and statues, all alongside their Baguette bags.
“Right before the end of the day, we hopped out of the car and got a photo in front of the Mouth of Truth to really seal the deal,” Kiernan shared of her Roman Holiday moment. Roman Holiday is a film starring Audrey Hepburn.
