Lauren Jauregui, Hayley Kiyoko, Andrew Matarazzo & More - New Music Friday 4/30

Happy New Music Friday!!

This week, we are so excited to have new music from Lauren Jauregui, who just dropped her new song “Temporary” on Friday (April 30).

Lauren‘s new song is part of a bigger picture, and is a part of Sound It Out, “a national campaign that uses music to help middle school kids and their caregivers have open, honest conversations about mental health.”

“Temporary” is inspired by a conversation Lauren had with a girl named Anna, and speaks to the ups and downs of mental health, as well as “how fleeting your life can feel at any age, and especially as a teenager.”

Hayley has also just released her new track “Found My Friends,” which is about “discovering and nurturing a strong friendship with yourself. This song resonates even more so now with everyone experiencing isolation in quarantine, when we still somehow find the resilience to connect with one another and find comfort in each other,” she said.

Andrew is back with his next single, “New York,” which is “about returning to a place that’s entire identity is infused with a person from your past, and happier times.”

This week also brings new songs and music videos from Sofia Carson, Justin Bieber and DJ Khaled, and more.

Lauren Jauregui Slams Catholic Church After Vatican Says They Can't Bless Same Sex Couples

Lauren Jauregui Slams Catholic Church After Vatican Says They Can't Bless Same Sex Couples

Lauren Jauregui is reacting to the Vatican’s statement on Monday (March 15).

The 24-year-old singer, who identifies as being bisexual, took to Twitter to slam the Roman Catholic church after the news spread.

“But it’s cool for them to molest children….bet,” she wrote in tweet.

“Also let’s not forget how most Catholics that exist today got here..look up ‘The Inquisition’ and ‘The Crusades’ I promise you that marrying a couple that loves each other is the least of the Church’s worries as far as disobeying God goes,” Lauren added in another tweet.

If you missed it, the Vatican responded to the question, “Does the Church have the power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex?” They replied “Negative,” and added a lengthy explanation of their answer.

“It is not licit to impart a blessing on relationships, or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside of marriage (i.e., outside the indissoluble union of a man and a woman open in itself to the transmission of life), as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex[6],” they wrote. “The presence in such relationships of positive elements, which are in themselves to be valued and appreciated, cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing, since the positive elements exist within the context of a union not ordered to the Creator’s plan.”

“Furthermore, since blessings on persons are in relationship with the sacraments, the blessing of homosexual unions cannot be considered licit,” the Vatican’s explanation continued. “This is because they would constitute a certain imitation or analogue of the nuptial blessing[7] invoked on the man and woman united in the sacrament of Matrimony, while in fact ‘there are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God’s plan for marriage and family’[8].”

Lauren Jauregui Opens Up About Feeling Uncomfortable When Fans Would Ship Her With Camila Cabello

Lauren Jauregui Opens Up About Feeling Uncomfortable When Fans Would Ship Her With Camila Cabello

Lauren Jauregui is speaking out about Fifth Harmony fans shipping her with Camila Cabello.

The 24-year-old singer opened up with Becky G on her En La Sala podcast on Amazon Music.

“People thought Camila and I were into each other, and that made me so uncomfortable. Like disgustingly so uncomfortable, because I was queer, but she was not. It made me feel like a predator, essentially,” Lauren said. “It made me feel like a predator because of the type of clips people would put together, the type of stories people would write, and the type of stuff, I was always the aggressor, and I was always the one turning her. I was always the one who was like the ‘masculine’ energy in the scenario, and it made me very uncomfortable because that’s not how I identify. That’s not to say that that’s wrong to identify with that.”

“I also did not have that connection with her. Camila and I were just very good friends, at that time,” she added. “We respected each other. When each other would talk, we would look at each other. We had love for each other, like genuine friendship.”

“In the Latinx culture, growing up, I was very affectionate with all of my friends,” Lauren continued. “…that actually made me so uncomfortable to the point where, I, to this day, hyper-analyze every connection that I have with a girl because I don’t want them to feel like I’m looking at them that way.”

Ally Brooke Reveals Fifth Harmony Could've Replaced Camila Cabello, But Chose Not To

Ally Brooke Reveals Fifth Harmony Could've Replaced Camila Cabello, But Chose Not To

Ally Brooke is opening up in her just released book “Finding Your Harmony”!

While the 27-year-old singer said she didn’t want to talk much about the Fifth Harmony drama, she did reveal that they had the chance to replace Camila Cabello.

Camila left the group almost four years ago, and 5H released a shocking message to fans announcing the news.

Now, Ally reveals that there was the option to bring another singer to take the missing spot, but the rest of the girls decided to just keep it as the four of them.

“There were several different options and routes we could’ve taken. There were a lot of different ideas floating around,” she told StyleCaster. “But the four of us decided, ‘Hey. We think it would be odd to all of a sudden bring someone.’ The four of us have a history, and we know what we went through together. We know our journey. We know each other. We felt like there was no question that we should continue on as we were.”

She shared that their management had offered quite a few names and one of them stood out.

“I don’t know if I can share, but one would’ve been really cool,” Ally said. “She’s at the top now, and everybody loves her. I love her. That wasn’t what we felt like would be right for our group, even though we love this other singer, and she’s awesome. She probably wouldn’t have accepted anyways because she probably would’ve said the same thing, like, ‘I don’t know if I should step in here.’ And her career is already blowing up.”
