Joey King Talks Not Sharing Too Much Of Herself With The World

Joey King takes the cover of Flaunt Magazine‘s “Dawn Chorus” issue!

The 21-year-old The Kissing Booth actress chatted with the mag about starting therapy this past year, working on and off camera, and refraining herself from sharing too much.

On taking on diverse roles from The Kissing Booth to The Act: “I think that being able to be an everyday person who is able to transform into someone like Elle Evans, to just be like every girl and able to be a lead of a movie, is meaningful. And also to become someone like Gypsy [Rose Blanchard] and completely strip away my vanity. I think people resonate with that, that vanity is not my top focus.”

On adding on- and off-camera work to her resume: “I feel so frickin’ grateful to have reached such a certain amount of success where I am now able to decide what I want to produce, and create opportunities for myself that maybe otherwise wouldn’t have presented themselves to me.”

On restraining herself from sharing so much of herself with the world: “Being an actor is so tough, because you have this image of who you are and what kind of image you want to present to other people, when in reality you have no control of what people think of you… I started to see the downside of people having so much information about you or to your personality or personal information.”

On starting a new venture this past year: “I have done a lot of work for myself this year. I started therapy this year, which is something I have never done before. I started it to be the best version of myself that I am trying to be.”

Demi Lovato Says She's Too Fluid To Put a Label On Her Sexuality

Demi Lovato looks fierce in red in this photo from her new Paper Magazine cover feature.

The 28-year-old posed for multiple looks and even turned into a bit of an alien for some of the pics.

“Photoshoot of my dreams 👽🌈,” Demi said on Instagram of the shoot.

In the mag, Demi opened up about her sexuality and how she doesn’t really have a specific label for herself.

“Going back over the past year, I thought my life was going to turn out a lot differently than it has,” she said. “At one point I was engaged to a man, and now I’m very much not.”

“I just wanted to allow myself the freedom to match my outside to what I feel like on the inside, and that’s what I’ve done,” she shared about her newly black, short hair.

“The queer label is fine because to me it’s just this blanket statement of being different,” Demi added. “That’s what I can commit to. I feel like I’m too fluid to commit to a label.”

Demi also recently opened up about how she’s not really romantically interested in men anymore.

Maddie Ziegler Says She Never Set Out To Become an Actress

Maddie Ziegler is taking the cover of Wonderland magazine‘s Spring 2021 issue!

The 18-year-old dancer and actress opened up about growing up in the spotlight, dancing and more.

On accepting imperfections through dancing for Sia: As soon as I started doing choreography for Sia videos, I learnt that my imperfections can be beautiful. I’ll always have Sia to thank for that. She taught me how to express my true self and not hide behind a cover of trying to be ‘too perfect’, as both a dancer and a human. We’ve become so close — she’s like family.

On finding acting through dance: I definitely found acting through dance. That was never my goal, I was just set on becoming a professional dancer.

On growing up on screen and in the spotlight: It’s super scary. I have literally gone through puberty on screen and I’m bound to make mistakes. I try to keep that in the back of my mind: ‘It’s OK if you slip up, Maddie, you’re only human’. It’s a learning process, and I just hope people can understand that.
