Lucy Hale Reacts To The New 'Pretty Little Liars' Series 'Original Sin'

Lucy Hale is opening up about the upcoming new iteration of Pretty Little Liars.

If you forgot, or blocked that memory, back in September, it was announced that Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on a new show Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin for HBO Max.

During a recent interview, Lucy shared her thoughts on the fourth Pretty Little Liars series, following the OG PLL, Ravenswood, and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

“I sincerely wish everyone the best and I hope it’s a huge success. Some people get angry about a reboot, but I think it’s important to be supportive of up-and-coming artists. I’m curious to see what they do with it!” she told Us Weekly.

In case you missed it, see how fans originally reacted to the news, and see what the original Pretty Little Liars creator I Marlene King said about the new show.

I Marlene King Reacts To The New 'Pretty Little Liars' Series 'Original Sin'

I. Marlene King is thanking Pretty Little Liars fans!

The creator of the original PLL series, and it’s two spinoffs, took to Twitter on Friday (September 25) to show her appreciation to the fans for their support amid the announcement of the new series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

“The #OGPLL fans are the most passionate, loving and loyal in the universe. Thank you for all of your support. We are family forever. I love you. ❤️ #PLLFamily #OGPLLFamily,” she wrote.

She also seemingly responded the day before, by liking two tweets from Bob Levy, who helped bring Pretty Little Liars to life, and served as an executive producer on the first season.

“PLL premiered 10 years ago today, the highest rated premiere in the network’s history and remained the highest rated show on the network for its entire 7 season run. At its peak it was the highest rated show on American TV for teen girls, bigger than GLEE or AMERICAN IDOL,” one of his tweets said.

“The moral of the story after 5 years of development at 3 networks: successful development requires all the stars to align. If you believe in your project, it may take multiple heartbreaking failures but keep going. #PatienceGrasshopper (That’s a 70s TV reference.)” Bob wrote in his other tweet.

Janel Parrish saw Marlene‘s tweet and echoed her statement, adding, “What she said. Love you @imarleneking”

Marlene actually has nothing to do with the series, and it’s being brought to HBO Max by Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

News of the series reboot, completely separate from the original, had many fans upset that it was being made, especially only three years after the OG series had gone off the air.

'PLL' Reboot 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' Officially Coming To HBO Max

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has been picked up to series by HBO Max!

The reboot of the Freeform series is heading to the streaming service from Riverdale‘s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Here’s a synopsis: Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-RAGE, horror-tinged drama Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.

“Coming soon to @hbomax. Secrets to die for. Sins to kill for. A new generation of little liars. Very honored and excited to be working on this, especially with #CAOS super-writer and #PLL savant @lindsaycbring. #originalsin #kiss-and-kill #coming-of-RAGE #where-is-angela-waters?? 💅🏻👠🔥💋💄💃🏻🌹🎭🎟🚑☠️,” Roberto wrote on Instagram.

“We’re such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #CANON and do something different. So we’re leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements,” Roberto and co-executive producer/writer Lindsay Calhoon Bring said in a statement.

'Riverdale' Creator Working On 'Pretty Little Liars' Reboot!

A Pretty Little Liars reboot is officially in the works!

According to THR, Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator/showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is leading the charge on a new version of the Freeform series.

Roberto will reportedly write the script that will have new characters and a new storyline.

There is no network attached to the project at this time, but THR sources say that HBO Max is where they want it to go. If you didn’t know, Pretty Little Liars actually made the jump to HBO Max earlier this year as the series’ streaming home.

This would be the fourth iteration of Pretty Little Liars, following the first spinoff series Ravenswood, then Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

In case you missed it, one PLL star recently shared their ideas for a reboot!

Brendan Robinson Shares His Ideas For a 'Pretty Little Liars' Reboot

Brendan Robinson is talking Pretty Little Liars!

The 30-year-old actor played Lucas Gottesman on the hit Freeform series and recently dished on if he’s down for a reboot and what is ideas would be.

“Yeah, I would love [a reboot]. I’m curious if it would be a reboot, like a series reboot or if it would be in the form of like a two hour movie,” Brendan told J-14. “I would totally be down for that. Any opportunity to work with people that I like to work with, and kind of ‘go home’ if you will, I’m totally up for that.”

He also opened up about what Lucas would be up to in 2020.

“One of the things that I’m told that they cut from the series finale was that Lucas and Caleb were now in business together,” Brendan said. “Whatever Caleb was doing at the time, like tech stuff, and Lucas was the money guy. So, possibly that. Then, maybe he’s in a relationship or married at this point and living his best life.”

Earlier this year, the Pretty Little Liars cast celebrated the 10 year anniversary since the show premiered!
