Fans Still Mourn The 100's Lincoln A Year After His Death on the Show

Is Lincoln’s death still a sore spot for you on The 100? That’s okay, it is with us too.

Fans are paying tribute to the Trikru character, played by Ricky Whittle, who sacrificed himself at the end of season three.

If you remember, Lincoln offered himself up after hearing that Chancellor Pike was going to kill the rest of the Grounders he had locked up. Lincoln was shot in the head and Pike left his body behind in a puddle of mud.

However, Octavia gave him a proper Trikru funeral in Arkadia and avenged his death by killing Pike later on.

The 100's Marie Avgeropoulos Dishes on Lincoln's Death & Octavia's 'Dark' Future

The 100's Marie Avgeropoulos Dishes on Lincoln's Death & Octavia's 'Dark' Future

Marie Avgeropoulos is opening up about the shocking death of Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) on The 100 this season.

We caught up with the Canadian actress on the carpet at the 2016 CW Upfronts where she looked back on the Octavia-Lincoln relationship.

“Of course, myself as an actress I was so sad to see Ricky Whittle go,” Marie told JJJ. “He’s a wonderful man and we have a great friendship. That romance was so deserved. They made so many epic sacrifices for one another. It was the classic, forbidden Romeo and Juliet romance. That’s the way it started and that’s the way it ended. It was horrible and beautiful all at the same time. That’s all they kept doing, is sacrificing their lives for one another. That’s exactly how the story ended and I feel like that chapter in a respectful way, in terms of the romance.”

As for the future, Marie said, “Next season, you’re going to see Octavia take a lot of really dark turns and uncover some really nasty layers. That will be exciting for me as an actress. She’s always evolving and changing.”

Earlier in the year, Ricky claimed he was “bullied” off the show.

The 100 is set to return in 2017.

The 100 Showrunner Jason Rothenberg Responds To Ricky Whittle 'Bullying' Comments

The 100 Showrunner Jason Rothenberg Responds To Ricky Whittle 'Bullying' Comments

Showrunner Jason Rothenberg has released a statement after Ricky Whittle‘s bullying comments made headlines on the internet.

Ricky, who played Lincoln on The 100, has stated that Jason “bullied” him off the series.

“He [Jason] chose to belittle me and neglect my character and myself. I often had questions and emails were ignored and things like that. It was ridiculous. … That’s one thing that I’ll never forgive him for: He made me walk away from something I really love,” Ricky stated in the interview.

Jason shared in a statement, “Ricky Whittle is a talented actor; I appreciate his work on The 100 and wish him all the best moving forward on American Gods.”

It looks like there was something to Ricky Whittle‘s mom’s tweets after all!

The 34-year-old actor spoke with AfterBuzzTV (via TVGuide) after Lincoln’s fate was dealt on the show last week.

“At the beginning of the season, he was not supposed to die. He had a whole story line that was cut, that was just nonexistent. It was my choice to go,” Ricky shared. “This is going to be the most controversial thing I will say, is that basically Jason Rothenberg abused his position to make my job untenable. What he did was disgusting and he should be ashamed.”

He added, “A lot was made of something my mom said all over Twitter, but everything she said was true. He was professionally bullying me, cutting out all the story line that I was supposed to be doing, cutting lines, cutting everything out, trying to make my character and myself as insignificant as possible.”

Ricky continued about how Lincoln was written out of the show: “He [Jason] chose to belittle me and neglect my character and myself. I often had questions and emails were ignored and things like that. It was ridiculous. … That’s one thing that I’ll never forgive him for: He made me walk away from something I really love. I love Lincoln. I love the show. I love that cast and crew. He forced me to make that choice, to walk away. And I’m proud I did it, I stood up and said, ‘Enough’s enough.’ My personal well-being is more important than this.”

Jason has not commented on the situation as of yet.
