‘HSMTMTS’ Season 2 Trailer

Asher Angel & Andrew Barth Feldman Join The Season 2 Cast of 'High School Musical' Series!

OMG! We are freaking out!

It was just announced that Asher Angel and Broadway star Andrew Barth Feldman have joined the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for recurring roles in season two!

Asher will play Jack, a charming, smooth-talking student with wanderlust. Andrew, who starred in the title role in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, will take on French exchange student Antoine.

We had our suspicions a week or two ago when Asher posted on Instagram that he was in Salt Lake City for work, which is where they film HSMTMTS. We are so excited that he’s joined the cast!

“The cast and I are excited for fans to see how Andrew and Asher expand our East High cinematic universe,” creator Tim Federle said.

The boys join previously announced guest stars Derek Hough, who will play Zack, the new drama teacher at East High’s rival high school, who returns to Salt Lake after a successful acting career in New York City; Roman Banks as Howie, a high school junior who works after school as a delivery guy for Big Red’s family’s pizza shop, Salt Lake Slices; and Olivia Rose Keegan as Lily, an energetic East High student whose sweetness masks her highly competitive nature.

In season two, the East High Wildcats, who are preparing to perform “Beauty and the Beast” as their spring musical, face off against rival school North High to win a prestigious and cutthroat student theater competition. Wigs are snatched, loyalties are tested, and ballads are belted.

Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett will also write more original songs for season two.

If you missed it, HSMTMTS and some of the show’s stars were recently nominated for 2021 Kids’ Choice Awards!
