Rose McIver & Robert Buckley Weigh In on If Liv & Major End Up Together on 'iZombie' Series Finale

Rose McIver & Robert Buckley Weigh In on If Liv & Major End Up Together on 'iZombie' Series Finale

As we read earlier, all our questions will be answered in the series finale of iZombie – but does that mean our Liv and Major one will to?

Do the once engaged couple end up together? Rose McIver and Robert Buckley hinted in a recent interview with The Mary Sue that maybe they do.

“I want it to work,” Robert shared about the couple.

Rose added, “I’ll settle for Major. We’ve already seen what we look like as an old married couple…I think it makes you know each other that much better. You don’t really know somebody when you think they’re perfect.”

Both shared that the two have been through a lot together and apart over the course of five seasons.

“I think there’s a mutual respect, and understanding, that neither of us had it quite right,” Rose shared. “Liv had to see where Major was coming from … there’s a definite respect for each other.”

Rob added, “We have the same goal with different executions … we’re both just trying to protect people.”

“We’ve forgiven each other, but you don’t forget all the difficulty that you’ve gone through … it’s a very complicated thing,” Rose continued. “I champion them as a relationship, in the end, because I think they know the textures of each other, and how they show grief together … it’s not smooth sailing; it’s a journey that they’re on.”

Rose McIver Opens Up About What To Expect in 'iZombie's Final Season Ahead of Season Premiere

Rose McIver Opens Up About What To Expect in 'iZombie's Final Season Ahead of Season Premiere

Tonight is the final season premiere of iZombie and we are having some feelings about it all.

Rose McIver opened up in an interview with SyFy about the final season, what she’s feeling and what you should expect in the upcoming episodes.

“My feeling is that in Season 5, like I think in some shows, you can coast a little more when you know the character and you know what you are doing,” Rose says of playing Liv. “I have found, for me, each season gets harder because it’s trying to mine something more. I certainly can’t relax into knowing Liv at this point.”

“I give that to the writers, as well, and to everybody involved in the show and how they handle the brains. There’s a lot of excavation.”

That being said, Rose adds that she feels like she’s “worked harder this season than I’ve ever worked on a show before. And just to keep it new and original. I feel like it’s really worked, and it’s paid off.”

“I’m more excited for this season than I have been for any in terms of the new layers we see in people. One of my favorite things is Malcolm [Goodwin]‘s humor this season. Clive Babineaux has always been funny, but he leans into it this year in a way that I’m like, ‘Hats off to Malcolm.’ He really does a great job. And he directs an episode, just casually. The overachiever award goes to Malcolm.”

iZombie premieres TONIGHT, May 2nd @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
