Sofia Carson is here and she did not come to play in the “Guess I’m a Liar” music video!

The 27-year-old premiered the video a week after releasing the song, and she recently opened up about the track and the visuals.

“It’s so exciting. It’s bold and it’s strong, and it’s striking, but also meaningful and will kind of pull at your heartstrings at the same time,” she told the Zach Sang Show about the music video. “It really just feels very honest to who I am as a person, as an artist. My taste in fashion and music and art has kind of all come together to this world of ‘Guess I’m a Liar’ that we’ve created.”

“It’s this story, this anthem of heartbreak survival and the triumph of self love,” Sofia shared about the song. “My favorite lyric is in the pre-chorus when it says, ‘Promised I would love you till the day I die, but I’m still alive, so guess I’m a liar now.’”

“It kind of happened quite beautifully that the last record that I released was about heartbreak, and now that this song that I’m coming into is about survival,” she added. “It’s like a beautiful story and it’s very much something that I’m really passionate about too, and you guys know I’m all about empowerment and that stuff, so it worked out.”

Sofia also said that “Guess I’m a Liar” is the start of a new era and her solo music, with more possibly coming very soon, even an album or EP.

“We do have a timeline, yes we do. I don’t think I’m at liberty to share that information… It is sooner rather than later, yes,” she dished, hinting we could find out more as soon as within the next week!

Sofia Carson is back with another new song!

The 27-year-old singer and actress debuted “Guess I’m a Liar” on Friday (October 16).

Along with Sofia, quite a few artists also premiered new songs that day. Ally Brooke dropped her new track with Afrojack called “What Are We Waiting For?”, YDE, who you may formally know as Breanna Yde from Malibu Rescue, also released her new song and music video, “Stopped Buying Diamonds,” while Austin Mahone shared his new song “Summer Love.”

Ahead of their album releases, Little Mix debuted “Happiness,” and Ashton Irwin premiered “Scar.” Little Mix will release their album Confetti on November 6th, while Ashton‘s debut solo album Superbloom will be out on October 23rd.

Speaking of albums, black-ish actor Miles Brown just dropped his new Hip Hop album We The Future, which features quite a few collabs, including a song with JD McCrary.

Sofia Carson looks stunning in red while attending the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, which aired on Sunday (August 30).

The 27-year-old actress and singer is presenting a special award at the show.

“There’s nothing more powerful or more important than using your voice. This year, countless artists have inspired us all and used their voices for GOOD. I cannot wait to see who wins #VMAs Video for Good presented by @pepsi tomorrow @VMA,” Sofia wrote on Twitter the day before.

Those nominated for the award are Anderson .Paak‘s “Lockdown”, Billie Eilish for “all the good girls go to hell”, Demi Lovato‘s “I Love Me”, H.E.R. for ”I Can’t Breathe”, Lil Baby‘s “The Bigger Picture” and Taylor Swift with “The Man”.

It has been exactly FIVE years since the first Descendants movie premiered on Disney Channel on July 31, 2015.

The Kenny Ortega-directed DCOM starred Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce, Sarah Jeffery, Mitchell Hope, Brenna D’Amico, Kristin Chenoweth and more.

Descendants brought us the songs “Rotten to the Core,” “Evil Like Me,” “Did I Mention,” “If Only,” “Be Our Guest,” “Set It Off,” and “Believe.”

Here’s a synopsis: Driven by exciting music and performance, the story is set in the idyllic kingdom of Auradon where Ben, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Beauty and the Beast), is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the trouble-making offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar, who have been imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost for 20 years.

These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon for the first time to attend prep school alongside the teenage progeny of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. Only time will tell if these evil teens follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents!

Sofia Carson is giving fans a little sneak peek at her new movie Songbird!

The 27-year-old actress and singer shared the first pic of her with co-star and on-screen boyfriend KJ Apa on set.

Sofia has shared photos and videos from set on her Instagram story, including their trailers, but nothing quite like this.

“SONGBIRD 2020. @kjapa @michaelbay @adamgoodman,” she captioned the photo, tagging KJ and producers Michael Bay and Adam Goodman.

Sofia and KJ are playing a couple in the upcoming film. He will play an essential worker who has a rare immunity, a delivery man who delivers goods and hope throughout the city, while she will play his girlfriend, locked within her home, and the couple have no ability to physically be together. In case you missed it, earlier this week, KJ suffered a head injury which caused him to need stitches!

It was just announced that the 23-year-old Riverdale star and Sofia Carson have joined the cast of the film Songbird.

The movie takes place two years into the future, as a coronavirus pandemic lockdown has been re-implemented after a more serious virus continues to mutate, leading to the city being divided into haves and have nots.

KJ will play an who has a rare immunity, a delivery man who delivers goods and hope throughout the city, while Sofia will play his girlfriend, locked within her home, and the couple have no ability to physically be together. To be with the one he loves, our hero must overcome martial law, murderous vigilantes and a powerful, well connected family, helmed by a matriarch (Demi Moore) who will stop at nothing to protect her family and maintain her way of life.

In case you missed it, this other former Disney Channel star has also been cast in the movie, which started principal photography last week in Los Angeles.
