John Green Shares Sweet Tribute To Esther Earl, The Inspiration Behind 'The Fault in Our Stars'
Today is a very special day to John Green – it’s Esther Earl‘s birthday.
If you remember, Esther was the inspiration behind The Fault in Our Stars, one of John‘s amazing novels, that was turned into a movie with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
“Happy Esther Day,” John greeted Twitter this morning (August 3). “Before she died in 2010, Esther Earl asked us to remember her birthday with a celebration of love among family and friends. And so every August 3rd, people around the world take a moment to say ‘I love you’ to those they care about.”
He added, “Esther would be–should be–24 years old today, navigating the treacherous waters of early adulthood.”
“I miss her, as so many people do. But I also see her work and love continuing through her family and @tswgo. I’m grateful to them, and to everyone who shares love on Esther Day.”
Happy Esther Day to all!
Esther would be–should be–24 years old today, navigating the treacherous waters of early adulthood. I miss her, as so many people do. But I also see her work and love continuing through her family and @tswgo. I'm grateful to them, and to everyone who shares love on Esther Day.
