Lucy Hale meets up with the cast of Charmed in this shot from inside The CW Network 2019 Upfronts Party held at The Pool on Thursday night (May 16) in New York City.
The four actors all star in the network’s new series, Katy Keene, which will be premiering mid-season in 2020.
Here’s the official summary for the show: Katy Keene follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene (Hale), singer/songwriter Josie McCoy (Murray), performer Jorge Lopez/Ginger (Beauchamp), and “It Girl†Pepper Smith (Chan) — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City…together.
Katy designs clothes for anyone she can, including her friend and roommate Josie, whose singing talent catches the attention of Alexander Cabot (Lucien Laviscount), a CEO who hopes to reboot the record label division of his father’s corporate empire. But Alexander’s dream of signing Josie to a recording contract meets resistance from Cabot Media’s powerful senior vice president Alexandra (Camille Hyde), who also happens to be his twin sister.
Josie and Katy’s roommate Jorge works at his family’s bodega and has his eye on Broadway, but after a series of rejections, he hopes to take his drag performance career as Ginger to the next level. The mysterious Pepper Smith plans to open her own version of Andy Warhol’s Factory. She has the connections, but no one seems to know where she got her money — or if she really has any at all.
Katy struggles to manage the pressures of her day job at Lacy’s Department Store and her very demanding boss, Gloria (Katherine LaNasa), who is a legendary personal shopper. But Katy has the support of her longtime boyfriend, KO Kelly (Zane Holtz), who has his own dream of becoming a professional boxer. As these aspiring artists take on the runway, the recording studio, Broadway, and the NYC social scene, they will find more than just a career in the big city — they’ll find long-lasting friendship.

Ashleigh Murray keeps it stylish at the premiere of The Sun Is Also A Star held at Pacific Theaters at the Grove on Monday (May 13) in Los Angeles.
Joined by Hayley Law, the two Riverdale stars stepped out for the premiere to support their co-star, Charles Melton, who plays Daniel Bae in the flick.

The big announcement came this week, with stars Lucy Hale, and Ashleigh Murray, and creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa sharing the happy news on social media.
“One door closes, another opens! So thrilled that Katy Keene is coming to the @TheCW with this beautiful cast! So grateful to @thatthingofwhen and Maggie Kiley for all the love they poured into this show! NYC, here we come!!!” Robertotweeted.

Here’s the official logline for the series: “In a timeless New York City, as enchanting as Riverdale is moody, aspiring fashion designer Katy Keene (Hale) meets Josie McCoy (Murray), fresh off the bus to chase her musical dreams. Their world is populated with kindred-spirit starving artists, including mysterious socialite Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) and Broadway-bound performer Jorge Lopez — and his drag queen alter ego, Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp). While their climb to the top is rife with obstacles, this found family will stop at nothing to see their names in lights. Based on the Archie Comics characters.â€
While not officially greenlit yet, the series centers on the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including titular fashion-legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City.
Ashleigh Murray shared a sneak peek of Josie’s performance in the episode, and remembered how much Luke supported her.
“This video is touching because it reminds me of Luke,” she shared with fans on social media. “How much he believed in me, my voice, talent. More than I did most days.”
Ashleigh continued, “Luke loved seeing me on stage and I can think of a moment we shared from each song…Tonight is for us. #riverdale.”
Riverdale airs TONIGHT, April 24th @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
