The first promo for the upcoming NBC musical drama starring the 17-year-old Moana star was just released and it definitely looks like it’s going to be an emotional roller coaster.
Rise is based on the book Drama High by Michael Sokolove and “follows Lou Mazzuchelli (How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor), an English teacher who takes over his high school’s lackluster theater department in what becomes a life-changing journey for all involved,” according to EW.
Rise premieres Tuesday, March 13 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, before moving to its regular time of 9 p.m. ET the following Tuesday, March 20.
Elle has made a statement in the both the acting world and the fashion world, and she wants to direct her own movie one day. “From nothing to something,” she told the outlet about creating a story. “That’s very enticing to me.”
