Rowan Blanchard poses for a pic with BFF Ava Phillippe inside Conde Nast & The Women March’s Dinner Party on Wednesday night (January 24) at Marcel Vigneron’s WOLF restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif.
The event was in celebration of the the one year anniversary of the March and the publication of “Together We Rise”, which Rowan has an essay in.
“I get asked a lot: ‘Why are you involved in politics? You’re so young, don’t you want to enjoy being a kid?’,’ her essay starts out, as reported by Glamour mag. “I really don’t understand that thought process. Let’s say you’re a teen who is an undocumented immigrant. Is someone going to ask you why you are involved in politics? And then you get deported?”
“The idea that teens shouldn’t be interested in politics just doesn’t make sense to me. Even though we can’t vote yet, we young people are all so, so affected by this presidency. And we’re incredibly aware of it.
Rowan‘s essay continues, “My generation isn’t sheltered like previous generations of teens have been. The presidential race acted as an age equalizer. We all have access to the same information because we are all on the Internet, and we are working hard to educate one another.”
“Speaking at the march was a way for me to remind people of all ages that if you lose teenagers, you lose the next voting generation.”
FYI: Rowan wore a Brock Collection ruffle off-the-shoulder top, with Dean Davidson jewelry and Charlotte Olympia shoes.

The 28-year-old Tolkien spoke to the New York Times recently about all the hair changes she’s had through the years and admits that even she’s lost track of her natural color.
“I just got back to brown from watermelon-red,” she said at the time of the interview. “That was for a role. I was shooting a movie in Korea, and my character’s name is Red. It’s nice to be back to brown because I know the makeup colors that work.”
Lily added, “But my hair has been through so much. There’s the coloring, but I’ve also been doing a lot of period pieces, and they’re always curling my hair.”
Lily is pictured below, back to a brunette color, at the Breakthrough Prize Awards on Sunday (December 3) and with Ava Phillippe at the Molly R. Stern X Sarah Chloe Jewelry Collaboration Launch Dinner on Monday (December 4) in Los Angeles.
