Netflix Shares Crash Course on 'Shadow & Bone' With New BTS Video, Plus New Stills

Netflix is helping fans get acquainted with the world of Shadow and Bone with this new behind-the-scenes video!

The streamer dropped the new clip on Thursday (April 15), which features some of the cast and creators sharing how they brought the series to life.

The new series is based off of Leigh Bardugo‘s worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels, and finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha.

Netflix has revealed the first look stills from the upcoming new series Shadow and Bone!

The new show stars Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan.

Here’s a synopsis: In a world cleaved in two by a massive barrier of perpetual darkness, where unnatural creatures feast on human flesh, a young soldier uncovers a power that might finally unite her country.

But as she struggles to hone her power, dangerous forces plot against her. Thugs, thieves, assassins and saints are at war now, and it will take more than magic to survive.

Netflix first announced the series back in December, which is based off of the book series of the same name by Leigh Bardugo. She also serves as an executive producer on the show.

Netflix Announces New YA Fantasy Series 'Shadow & Bone' Release Date

Netflix is gearing up to release a brand new young adult fantasy series called Shadow and Bone!

The streaming platform revealed that the upcoming show will be out in April 2021 with a little teaser video.

Shadow and Bone
is based off the book series of the same name by Leigh Bardugo, who actually serves as an executive producer on the show.

“We’ve taken the stories of Shadow and Bone and the characters of Six of Crows and we’ve brought them together in what I think will be a really unexpected way,” Leigh said in a Netflix Q&A, via People. “When they watch this show, audiences are going to encounter a world that feels fully realized — but that doesn’t feel like any place they’ve been before. When I was on set, I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to stay in that world longer.”

Ben Barnes Reunites With Anna Popplewell & More 'Narnia' Stars For Dinner

If you’re new around here, the number on thing you must know is that we love love love The Chronicles of Narnia franchise…and Ben Barnes obviously knows that.

Earlier this week, the Prince Caspain star gathered all the cast that he could for a mini reunion dinner and shared the pic with his fans on social media.

Ben, along with Georgie Henley (Lucy), Anna Popplewell (Susan), and William Moseley (Peter) met up with producer Andrew Adamson and Alina Phelan Ballou, who played a centaur in the first film and a midwife in the second.

“#Narnia reunion dinner over a decade on! 🦁 🧙🏽‍♀️🚪👑 🗡,” Ben captioned on his feed, asking later, “#whereareyouskandar?”
