Carly Rae Jepsen raises her arm high while performing during her concert at Terminal 5 in New York City on Friday night (March 25).
The 30-year-old “I Really Like You” singer spoke with the NY Post ahead of the concert, talking about how she always knew she wanted to be a performer.
“Music will always be No. 1. That hasn’t changed since I was 7 years old. Acting is something I get joy from, but music is what I’ve devoted my life to. I still write songs even when I don’t have a project to write for,” Carly Rae shared.
She added, “When I was at school, the other kids had a new idea of what they wanted to be every second week. For me, nothing ever beat being a performer and singing.”
The singer and Grease: Live star re-recorded “Everywhere You Look,” which was the same theme of the famous 90s show, just with her own twist on it.
In the spinoff show, Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron-Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco.
D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys – the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson, neurotic 7-year-old Max and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr.
Don’t forget – Fuller House hits Netflix TOMORROW, February 26!

Jordan Fisher‘s head is still spinning just days after the premiere of Grease: Live.
Speaking with Cosmopolitan, the 21-year-old actor opened up about the mishap you didn’t see, his “Frenchy” Carly Rae Jepsen, his heartthrob moment and more. Check it:
On working with Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy: “She’s incredibly gifted, incredibly talented girl, very hard-working, very easy to work with. She deserves a stage the size of the world, like she got yesterday. We actually were talking yesterday about collaborating in terms of music and we’re going to try to make that happen.
On dropping “Counterfeit” just before the premiere: “We wanted everybody to have something to hear. It’s not the first single for the album, but it is a song that is on the album. We’re not doing the first push for the big single for another couple of months, but me and my team were all excited for people to hear [something], just in case they saw Grease and liked what they saw.”
On the behind-the-scenes moment that could’ve been a disaster: “There was one moment right after ‘Greased Lightning.’ It includes all of those wardrobe changes – I think a total of eight wardrobe changes in a matter of 10 minutes – [and] going from Stage 23 to Stage 26 to begin ‘Magic Changes.’ All that’s happening in my mind in between those two numbers it’s like, ‘All right, catch a breath. You only have a second.’ Then we hit a bit of a traffic jam. We hopped on the golf cart after ‘Greased Lightning’ and there was a truck that pulled up at an intersection that we needed to get by. [We] ended up making it all work, thank god.”
On being everyone’s new crush: “I really appreciate that. That’s very sweet. Like I said, I didn’t really expect what came last night. You can’t really prepare yourself. I feel like last night was a Super Bowl moment – and I’m looking forward to the next one.”
