“I’ve known Trevor for years, I respect him so much as an artist, he’s amazing, and it just kind of made sense to put him on the song. When he was down, I was like ‘yes!’” Cierra shared.
She adds that her album, which is due out “around the end of July or early August”, isn’t “named yet, but stay tuned!”
Cierra Ramirez is spilling some more details on her new music!
The Good Trouble actress made an appearance on Build Series and talked all about the music she’s been working, including that there are more music videos “coming soon.”
“This stuff that I’m putting out right now is completely different, unlike anything you’ve ever heard from me. A lot more personal. I do play with genres, which is really fun. You’ll kind of get a little taste of everything,” she said. “The songs and the lyrics, they’re themselves, they do kind of tell a story for sure. They’re all very, very within in the same lane. I’m really, really excited for people to hear.”
Cierra also teased that there will be more Spanglish lyrics, and possibly (wink, wink) more features!
Dinah Jane performed on the Coca-Cola Music Stage during the BET Experience at the Los Angeles Convention center on Saturday (June 22) in Los Angeles, California. The former Fifth Harmony singer wore a white, strapless jumpsuit for the performance.
One day earlier, Cierra attended the BET Experience Celebrity Dodgeball Game at the Staples Center on Friday (June 21) in Los Angeles, California. Cierra kept it casual in black sweatpants and a matching black hoodie to the game.

Cierra Ramirez hits up the 2019 BET Experience Celebrity Dodgeball Game held at Staples Center on Friday (June 21) in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old Good Trouble actress and singer took some time to watch the game as Black Lightning‘s Nafessa Williams and Dante Brown played. She also joined her record label Empire for a meet and greet with fans.
Cierra recently joined YouTuber and pal Daisy Marquez in a new video where the girls did their makeup and talked about her career, including Good Trouble and her music.
When talking about music, Cierra dished that she has a full album coming out soon, and her style of music is going to change a little from what she’s released in the past.
“I’m finally releasing a full body of music soon,” she teased. “New music is kind of unlike anyone has ever heard from me. A lot more pop, but very fun.”
The Good Trouble actress and the grown-ish actor are actually on the same record label and opened up about working together on the track.
“It’s been an amazing experience for both of my worlds to collide. Trevor & I, both being on Freeform TV shows and being signed to the same label, EMPIRE, seemed like the perfect fit for a collab and I couldn’t be happier. He’s so talented and he brings so much to ‘Broke Us’,” Cierra said in a statement.
“Cierra asked me to be a part of the record while I was finishing up my album, Rough Drafts Pt. 2 and what I liked most about it was that it wasn’t your traditional pop break-up song. It has a certain amount of honesty and pain that I know will touch the listeners!†Trevor added.
The 24-year-old actress dished about her character’s burgeoning romance with Raj and what’s going on with her boss Evan.
“I definitely think it’s going to complicate things, just because of everything she’s been fighting for, as far as changing the culture at Speckulate,” she told TV Line about the romance with Raj. “You can’t help who you love, of course, but I think with the Fight Club girls, it might not fly — or maybe not even with the whole company in general, just because she’s been fighting this patriarchy, trying to have equal rights. It’s going to get her into some trouble, you’ll see.”
“I think it’s going to put a strain on both ends. Because she’s not really in a place where she can tell everyone at Speckulate she’s dating a co-worker. Josh got fired for that very reason, for making advances on women there. But also, she does like him, so it’s a hard thing. We’ll definitely explore that throughout this season,” Cierra added about whether her work or relationship would suffer more.
And as for her boss Evan developing feelings, Cierra dished about Mariana’s feelings for him.
“I think she just really respects him. Not a lot of people understand Evan or get him, and I think that he was drawn to Mariana because she really understood him, and she really appreciates him taking interest in her app and wanting to help her. Again, that can get a little messy if someone starts to get feelings,” she said.
