Dakota & Elle Fanning Launch New Production Company, Set First Series!

The Fanning sisters are the latest to launch their own production company!

It was just reported on Thursday (March 4) that Dakota and Elle Fanning have started Lewellen Pictures, Variety reveals.

Under their new company, the girls have already signed a first look TV deal with Civic Center Media in affiliation with MRC Television, and will executive produce a series adaptation of Megan Miranda‘s novel “The Last House.”

The show “is described as a crime thriller about an intimate friendship between two girls who fall violently in love with each other’s differences, which, in the end, create doubt, betrayal and tragedy.”

Dakota and Elle‘s new partnership with Civic Center Media and MRC Television is furthering Elle‘s work with them. She executive produces her hit Hulu series The Great, which the companies also produce.

“We are thrilled to be launching this company together and to be teaming up with MRC who have been excellent partners on The Great,” the Fanning sisters said in a statement. ”Our goal is to tell stories, through comedy and drama, which are authentic to the human experience, and not just from our own perspective. We also want to create content that we wouldn’t be able to make just as actors. We can learn so much when we look outside our specific points of view. We have been fortunate to work with many brilliant storytellers and hope to continue that track while also providing opportunities for many more.”

If you missed it, it was recently announced that Dakota has signed on to star in an upcoming new TV series, reuniting her with a former co-star from over 20 years ago!
