Dove Cameron is saying goodbye to Descendants in a touching note.

The 23-year-old actress took to her Instagram to share tons of behind-the-scenes content before sharing her thoughts about the series ending.

“these past 6 years have been filled with more growth, more deep, true love and more vibrant LIFE, than most people experience in a lifetime and for that, i am forever grateful and forever indebted. i am humbled by the relationships i have made, the family i have found. i never thought i would ever feel truly SEEN for the human alien (that i think all artists feel they are) that i am until i found these people, my tribe,” Dove wrote.

She added a thoughtful thank you to director Kenny Ortega before writing, “to @sofiacarson , @booboostewart.art and cameron. words fail me. my heart is heavy with pain, and aching, agonizing love. my siblings. 6 years with the best. how did i get so lucky?”

“goodbye, descendants. i will be forever grateful for this world, this momentary allowance into what felt like a double life. this world that was only ours, that we got to literally BUILD UP around us, that kept us safe, that let us escape to a place where everything made sense and everyone had love and a place they belonged, in our most formative and sensitive years. i needed you at 17, when i was lost and looking, and now i leave you stronger, deeply rooted and decidedly wild, if not a little heartbroken. although, i never truly leave you,” Dove concluded.

Descendants 3 ended with a touching tribute to Cameron Boyce.

Following the Disney Channel film’s ending credits, a two-minute video showed clips of Cameron throughout the years – from his days on Jessie to all three Descendants movies.

Cameron could be seen with co-star Debby Ryan, laughing with Michelle Obama and hugging director Kenny Ortega.

“Everything you are. Every smile, every laugh, every dance, every hug, every moment, everyone you touched. You mean everything to us,” the screen read during the tribute.

Earlier in the day, Dove Cameron also shared a touching tribute from the cast.

The premiere of Descendants 3 is starting NOW on Disney Channel and the late Cameron Boyce is being honored by his co-stars Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and Boo Boo Stewart.

The three stars still are keeping their group text chat with Cameron alive and they sent sweet messages to him moments before the movie premiered on Friday night (August 2).

“I love you so much,” Sofia and Dove both wrote. Boo Boo added, “I love you so much too.”

Dove recently told Seventeen how the group chat is still very active.

“It’s hard when there are no adequate words to express the pain we are all feeling, but the usual text is ‘love you.’ Or ‘are you eating?’ Or ‘how are we all today?’” she said. “I think something like this horrible loss makes you realize how important you are all to each other. I am grateful for my chosen family at a time like this.”

Brenna D’Amico and Sarah Jeffery, who play Jane and Audrey in Descendants 3, are getting us all emotional over their letters on Instagram.

Ahead of the premiere tonight @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel, the two actresses took to social media to pay tribute both to the long-running Disney franchise and to Cameron Boyce, their co-star, who passed away earlier last month.

“Today is the day… Im filled with so many emotions. Gratitude, love, sadness, grief, happiness… Today we celebrate the most incredible boy I have ever known. Cameron. I love you,” Sarah wrote, along with sharing a few images of them together and a clip from set.

She continues, “Today is hard. But this film is filled with the essence that was you, and that is the most beautiful thing to witness. How incredibly grateful I am to have called you a friend. Words will never express this loss, but today we reflect on the special memories we were so lucky to create with you.”

“To the cast, to the Boyce’s, to Kenny and our whole family… I love you all deeply. Thank you for this half a decade of pure magic. 💙💙💙 #descendants3.”

Who’s ready for the premiere of Descendants 3 tonight?! We know we are!

While we all know the core four starring in the flick, JJJ’s put together a full cast list of faces and characters you’ll see in the final film.

Here’s a summary for the movie: In the flick, Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay return to the Isle of the Lost to recruit a new batch of villainous offspring to join them at Auradon Prep.

But when a barrier breach jeopardizes the safety of Auradon during their departure off the Isle, Mal resolves to permanently close the barrier for fear that nemeses Uma and Hades will wreak vengeance on the kingdom.

Despite her decision, an unfathomable dark force threatens the people of Auradon, and it’s up to Mal and the VKs to save everyone in their most epic battle yet.

Descendants 3 premieres TONIGHT, Friday, August 2nd @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.

Sofia Carson has us in tears over the letter she wrote to her Descendants family and her character, Evie, on Instagram.

The 26-year-old actress, who is filming a new Netflix movie right now, penned a heartfelt letter to her character and how she completely changed her life.

“My Dearest Evie, As I write this, I cannot bring myself to say goodbye to you…but this is not a good bye. You and I are bound at the heart from here until eternity. And until then I will love you, Evie. Forever and for always.

“Five years ago, I walked into an audition room, that, little did I know, would turn my whole world upside down and paint it a beautiful shade of blue. To say that you changed my life would be saying too little….But, if I’m being honest, I could never say enough. I could never find the words to express to you the fairytale you have gifted me. You have taken me on the journey of a lifetime & this life time over (and a thousand lifetimes after that). Every precious moment, every memory, every laugh, every smile…has felt like pixie dust. The purest magic. A fairytale.

“But most of all, my dear Evie, you gifted me with an angel…My Cam. Our Cam. Who is looking down upon us today, dancing like only he knew how, laughing like only he (in the whole world) could make us laugh, and smiling as if everyday was heaven on earth. I thank you for every hug he gave me. The warm embrace I still feel, every waking day. What I would do, to hug him today.

“Five years, three movies, and here we are. My heart full, eyes watering, struggling to find the words to say…THANK YOU. It has been my HONOR.”

We have almost reached the end of the “Road To Auradon”!

In the new installment of the behind the scenes series, we get a look at the pirates – Thomas Doherty (Harry Hook) and Dylan Playfair (Gil) – as well as China Anne McClain‘s Uma and new villain, Hades, played by Cheyenne Jackson.

“He is just a crazy guy. He’s just a bit mad, very unpredictable, he’s very confident, he’s quite charming, but he’s also a bit scary,” Thomas says in the clip.

“It’s so much fun to be working with a new character. I LOVE Cheyenne Jackson. He’s obviously a huge Broadway veteran, and he is unbelievably talented,” Dove adds about their new co-star.

“He has lived a big life and had a lot of amazing things happen to him and now he’s kind of relegated to this cave, and to this small little life,” Cheyenne said of Hades. “It’s fun to play make believe on these big giant sets and these great costumes and hair. It’s going to be good.”
