Disney+ just announced a brand new short featuring Maggie Simpson!
The youngest of the Simpsons family will star in Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens From Its Nap’, which will premiere on May 4th.
Here’s a synopsis: In a daycare far, far away… but still in Springfield, Maggie is on an epic quest for her stolen pacifier. Her adventure brings her face-to-face with young Padawans, Sith Lords, familiar droids, Rebel scum, and an ultimate battle against the dark side, in this original short celebrating the Star Wars galaxy.
The new short is just one of the multiple new releases for Star Wars Day on Tuesday (May 4). It is also the first of several from The Simpsons that Disney+ will release throughout the year paying tribute to the service’s marquee brands and titles.
Star Wars‘ new animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, will premiere, as well as new artwork created by Star Wars fans, which is a first for Disney+.
A global group of artists and Star Wars fans have created illustrations representing an assortment of Star Wars movies and original series, bringing them to life in their own unique styles.
The artwork will be debut on Disney+ until May 9th, and will then be able to purchase on Amazon!
The Disney/Pixar animated film won two Academy Awards on Sunday night (April 25), making history for streaming service Disney+.
If you remember, Soul premiered on Disney+, and it’s wins at the annual awards show are the first ever Oscars for the streamer!
The movie, which also makes history with Jamie Foxx as the first African-American lead in a Pixar film, picked up two trophies – Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Score. It also won both of these awards at the 2021 Golden Globes.
If you missed it, this is the 11th Best Animated Feature for Pixar, and the 14th for Disney overall. It’s also the third Best Animated Feature win for director Pete Docter. Get more details here!
Jon Batiste was among the winners for the Best Original Score award, along with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. His win is only the second time a Black composer has won an Original Score Oscar. The first was Herbie Hancock for 1986′s Round Midnight, another film centered around Jazz music.

In the new video, Lauren (Bella Higginbotham) finds out that Maya (Taegen Burns) did not post the TikTok video they made together, and goes to confront her as to why she didn’t post it.
“Is that the one she did with me?” Lauren asks Nick (Maxwell Simkins).
“No, not with you,” he responds. “I don’t see [yours] here, I guess your TikTok didn’t make her feed.”
“Why wouldn’t she post our TikTok?” Lauren says, to which he replies, “I think I know why, but I’m scared to say for I am small, and you have nunchucks.”

The streaming service has revealed the full list of everything that will be added and premiering next month and it is pretty big.
One of the biggest premieres is the highly anticipated Cruella, starring Emma Stone. The new movie will hit theaters AND debut on Disney+ Premier Access on Friday, May 28th.
This means that fans will have to pay an additional fee on top of their regular subscription price in order to watch the film on the streamer. It will then remain as part of your library to watch as much as you want. Be sure to watch the latest trailer for Cruella!
