The 29-year-old singer reacted the next day to the death of one of her favorite actresses, British comedian Caroline Aherne, who passed away at age 52 following a battle with cancer.

Niall Horan and Ellie Goulding are seemingly still on great terms!
The 22-year-old One Direction took to Instagram to congratulate his 29-year-old singer pal on her Glastonbury Festival performance.
“Yesterday i watched my best friend play main stage at Glastonbury. She killed it as always , so happy for her ! @elliegoulding,” Niall captioned a photo of her performing, which you can see below.
The duo has a long history together after they were rumored to be dating back in August 2013.
If you remember, there was a little drama when she was seen holding hands with Ed Sheeran around the same time.

The 29-year-old singer used her time on stage to comment on the disappointing outcome of the Brexit vote and to encourage her fans to spread the “spirit of Glastonbury” around the country.
“I know things have been a bit weird the past few days. Actually that’s an understatement,” Ellie said (via The Mirror). “But it is so nice to be in a place where there is so much unity and where everyone is so happy and friendly and dancing together and laughing together and loving each other.”
“I really hope now for this lovely country that I live in and you live in that that sentiment, that spirit of Glastonbury, happens all over the country still, because I know some really terrible things have been happening and I really hope that when you go home that you guys will take that spirit with you,” Ellie continued. “And if you see that that spirit is not happening wherever you live, wherever you are, to other people… We are all one person, we are all human beings. I just want to say I really hope that we can all carry the spirit of Glastonbury home with us, because that would make me very happy.”

Alessia Cara is all smiles on stage after performing Day 2 of BBC Radio 1′s Big Weekend held at Powderham Castle on Sunday (May 29) in Exeter, England.
The 19-year-old “Here” singer chatted with press ahead of her set, about touring with Coldplay and shared a funny story about arguing with her mom over who was the bigger fan.
“So I wanted to say that I was their biggest fan, but my mum argued that she was,” Alessia shared. “What came out was ‘my mom’s probably a bigger fan than I am’ to which Chris [Martin] replied: ‘It’s ok, we don’t need you, we’ve got tons of fans.”
She added, “I felt so dumb. My whole life had led to that moment and I messed it up. But of course he was joking.”
Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, The 1975 and One Republic also hit the stage for the concert event.
