The “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” singer and the “OTW” crooner released the video on Monday (November 5).

Co-written by Marjory Stoneman Douglas students Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, director Anthony Mandler, and Larry Jackson, the seven-minute video spotlights over 30 inspiring young people from around the world.

The young activists, painters, dancers, gun violence survivors, musical prodigies, and many more are splashed against a stunning New York City backdrop.

“For the ‘Youth’ video, we wanted to make something that would highlight and empower young people, by giving the stage to a group of extraordinary kids,” Shawn said. “Khalid and I wanted them to be the focus of the video, and to give them a platform, in the hope that it can inspire other young people to pursue what they love and use their voice.”

Parkland Student Survivors Speak Out After Texas High School Shooting

Students who were celebrating their last day of school at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., today are sharing their thoughts after finding out about the shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas.

The Parkland student survivors and March for Our Lives organizers expressed their sorrow and called for change via Twitter on Friday (May 18).

“Santa Fe High, you didn’t deserve this,” Emma Gonzalez wrote. “You deserve peace all your lives, not just after a tombstone saying that is put over you. You deserve more than Thoughts and Prayers, and after supporting us by walking out we will be there to support you by raising up your voices.”

“We are fighting for you,” David Hogg shared, while Jaclyn Corin added, “My heart is so heavy for the students of Santa Fe High School. It’s an all too familiar feeling no one should have to experience. I am so sorry this epidemic touched your town – Parkland will stand with you now and forever.”

Ten have been killed in the new shooting, and several others have been injured, CNN reports, adding that is the 22nd U.S. school shooting this year, and the third time in eight days that a gunman was on a school campus.

Lauren Jauregui, Zendaya & More Praise Emma Gonzalez For Her Gun Control Speech

If you didn’t watch or hear about Emma Gonzalez‘s compelling speech about gun control over the weekend, then it’s required viewing starting right now.

Emma, a Parkland shooting survivor, spoke at an anti-gun rally, promising that Parkland will be the last school shooting in America.

“We are going to be the last mass shooting,” she said. “…That’s going to be Marjory Stoneman Douglas in that textbook, and it’s all going to be due to the tireless efforts of the school board, the faculty members, the family members and most importantly the students.”

Emma also spoke out about President Trump‘s response to the shooting and against the NRA.

“If the president wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a terrible tragedy, and how it should never have happened, and maintain telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I’m going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association. But hey, you want to know something? It doesn’t matter, because I already know: $30 million. … To every politician who is taking donations from the NRA, shame on you!”

Lauren Jauregui, Zendaya, Emeraude Toubia, Aimee Carrero, Sophia Bush and Ashley Tisdale have all sent their support on social media to Emma and praised her speech.
