Ally Brooke just launched the first episode of her brand new video podcast The Ally Brooke Show!

The 27-year-old singer and author is “looking forward to having fun, engaging and uplifting conversations” on the show.

“There’s nothing I love more than meeting people from different walks of life, and this show will allow me to share their incredible stories with my amazing fans,” Ally added.

In the first episode, she talked about her time in Fifth Harmony, and how although there were a lot of great moments, she didn’t really enjoy her time in the group, for various reasons.

Ally Brooke is opening up in her just released book “Finding Your Harmony”!

While the 27-year-old singer said she didn’t want to talk much about the Fifth Harmony drama, she did reveal that they had the chance to replace Camila Cabello.

Camila left the group almost four years ago, and 5H released a shocking message to fans announcing the news.

Now, Ally reveals that there was the option to bring another singer to take the missing spot, but the rest of the girls decided to just keep it as the four of them.

“There were several different options and routes we could’ve taken. There were a lot of different ideas floating around,” she told StyleCaster. “But the four of us decided, ‘Hey. We think it would be odd to all of a sudden bring someone.’ The four of us have a history, and we know what we went through together. We know our journey. We know each other. We felt like there was no question that we should continue on as we were.”

She shared that their management had offered quite a few names and one of them stood out.

“I don’t know if I can share, but one would’ve been really cool,” Ally said. “She’s at the top now, and everybody loves her. I love her. That wasn’t what we felt like would be right for our group, even though we love this other singer, and she’s awesome. She probably wouldn’t have accepted anyways because she probably would’ve said the same thing, like, ‘I don’t know if I should step in here.’ And her career is already blowing up.”

Ally Brooke is dishing on why she doesn’t really talk about her Fifth Harmony days in her new book “Finding Your Harmony.”

The 27-year-old singer’s book is out now, and she recently opened up about wanting to focus this book on her personal journey.

“I really wanted this to focus on my personal story,” she told People. “I didn’t want to talk about the drama. I felt like my story and the things that God has done in my life and my family were so important and I didn’t want anything to overshadow that. That was one of the reasons.”

“There’s so much of Fifth Harmony. There are five books you could write,” Ally added. “One day, there’ll eventually be an opportunity to share that if I want, because there is a lot that happened… there definitely will be a part two.”

Ally‘s book “Finding Your Harmony: Dream Big, Have Faith, and Achieve More Than You Can Imagine“ is out in stores now.

Here’s what the 23-year-old Fifth Harmony member-turned-solo star had to say…

On how being a member of 5H restricted her as an artist: “I don’t feel like while I was in the group anyone saw the truest version of me. I wasn’t allowed the opportunity to showcase that…I’m not able to go in in the way that I want to [because] of what the group was.”

On feeling alienated following an incident that resulted in racist, hateful comments from fans: “[The girls] offered support, but I’m not sure they could be there in the way that I needed because it’s not their experience…they don’t have to face on a day-to-day basis the things that I have to. I definitely learned after that that I had to walk a different way. I can’t look like everybody else.”

On the personal significance of her forthcoming album: “I’m doing this as therapy for me…to be able to get to know myself in a way that hasn’t even been revealed yet, to be vulnerable in a way that I haven’t been before. I want this to be like a diary of all women — to reflect and showcase the many layers of us. We’re not one-dimensional.”

Ally Brooke is opening up about her time in Fifth Harmony, and how she struggled to find her identity.

The Dancing With The Stars contestant and singer went on the Zach Sang Show and talked about her solo music, DWTS, and how the Fifth Harmony girls are much happier now.

“I feel like there were some fun moments for sure. Just being able to experience all of that happening at once. Everyone would say the same answer, everyone’s probably happy on their own. And it’s natural, everyone seems much happier, everyone’s killing it,” Ally said. “We all started as solo artists, and I definitely was pursuing a solo career even before [The X Factor]. I’m just thankful to be in where I’m at now and I’m so much happier being where I’m at now. I feel like I look at the girl in Fifth Harmony and I see someone totally different. Now I’m more confident, I’m showing people who I am, I’m brave… I’m so happy being where I’m at.

She also dished about the struggles of being in a group.

“It was so frustrating. I was balancing all these different roles. Kind of feeling like I was being the mom, and I had to be an example, and a leader, but also kind of do what I could with what I was given, and be grateful,” she added. “I kind of struggled, and I was like, ‘Wait, everybody would want to be in my position. People would kill to be in my position, but I’m not really happy because of some situations that are going on, or the things that I’m being given I’m not truly show what I’m capable of. But that was a part of the process, and I was a million percent. I put my blood into Fifth Harmony.”

Here’s what the 22-year-old Fifth Harmony singer said…

On relationships: “You should always have your standards. You should have your limits, your boundaries, things that make you comfortable, things that you like, things that you don’t like. You should know all those things. But you should never expect another person to give you those things. It’s important when you’re in a relationship with someone to understand that the other person isn’t you – they’re not gonna love like you do, and they’re gonna have their own language, if you will. And so if you wanna really love somebody, you’ve gotta apply yourself in terms of learning that person’s language. You can’t expect that the way you would react to things will be the way that other person’s going to react. But at the same time, you’ve got to look out for yourself and make sure you’re being taken care of. If the other person isn’t trying to listen to your language, they’re not the person for you. And when that happens, you’ve gotta move on.”

On being a solo artist after Fifth Harmony: “I had kind of turned myself off creatively as far as, like, trying to make music went for so long that I feel like I had no idea what I wanted to sound like. And that [what I should sound like] is something that keeps evolving every day – I feel like I’m getting closer and closer to my answer. Right now, at this exact moment, I’m in a much clearer headspace than I’ve ever been on what my sound and my vibe is.”

On LGBTQ activism in 2019: “We have a voice and a community that’s definitely united in a way that’s special during this time, but if we’re talking about politically – if we’re talking about the way people are being treated and talked about, there’s a lot of progress to be made, I believe, especially from a legal standpoint. But you know, I’m not the bitch with all the answers. I definitely don’t have all the solutions. But look at the way we unite at Pride – the way the community’s there for each other. We have amazing things in our favor. But there’s levels to all of this, and we can discriminate even among ourselves.”

Here’s what the “Expectations” crooner had to say to the outlet:

On the departure from the pop ethos of Fifth Harmony to create her own alternative R&B sound: “I’m leaning more towards live instrumentation and my vocals are very raw so I’m really focusing on my lyricism. That’s where I feel like my strong suit is. I’m pretty vocal about the fact that [Fifth Harmony] wasn’t necessarily a representation of my personal taste in music or my expression in music. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that…”

On how sexuality doesn’t be someone’s defining factor: “For me, it is who I am, but it doesn’t define who I am, the same way no one’s sexuality defines who they are. It’s awesome to be proud of the love you’re able to express in this lifetime. I would prefer if most of the headlines weren’t about [my sexuality], but I understand the sensationalization of sex in our culture so I don’t really care too much at the same time. I get it, people like to talk about who people are f–king.”

On what power player in Congress is an inspiration to her: “[Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] is a major idol for me right now. You know when your mom walks in and is like, ‘Okay. This is how it’s gonna get done. I’ve seen you struggle long enough – I’m just gonna fix this s–t.’ She’s insanely human and she actually takes her position in public office seriously.”
