'Girl Meets World's Josh Matthews Shares The Best Lesson He Learned From The Show

When word came that Girl Meets World was actually, truly not going to live on, we were heartbroken.

JJJ spoke to Uriah Shelton about the legacy of the show.

“[It was] Pretty sad actually,” he shared about the cancellation. “For the fans…ever since I joined the show I’ve received such overwhelming support from a multitude of amazing boy, girls, men, and women. It was sad to see something they love so much end so soon, but then again, that’s the business we’re in.”

Uriah also shared the one lesson that he’ll always hold close to his heart: “Hold your true friends close.”

“True friends will uplift you and stay with you for life,” he says. “Even if you go through periods where you don’t hang out as much you’ll always be able to rely on them, and everyone needs someone like that.”

Girl Meets World's Uriah Shelton Thinks Josh & Maya Could Have Been Endgame

Uriah Shelton was seemingly a Josh/Maya shipper on Girl Meets World.

The 20-year-old actor was recently asked if they would have ended up together had the show been renewed for another season.

“The whole thing with Maya – it’s not really a relationship that’s conventional and didn’t necessarily work out in a lot of areas,” Uriah told M magazine. “But you know, they still like each other. I think they would’ve done well together. I definitely think they would’ve needed to wait a while – you know, you’re in it for the long game.”

He added, “The relationship wouldn’t have happened right then and there, but if it was meant to be and they waited – it’s meant to be, you know? I always kind of, you know, like to think it would happen down the road, but you know at this point it’s up to the fans’ imagination.”

In case you missed it, Uriah recently said that his co-star Rowan Blanchard didn’t like him very much.

Girl Meets World's Uriah Shelton Talks Rowan Blanchard Feud: 'She Doesn't Really Like Me'

Girl Meets World's Uriah Shelton Talks Rowan Blanchard Feud: 'She Doesn't Really Like Me'

Uriah Shelton is speaking out about his rumored feud with former co-star Rowan Blanchard.

The 20-year-old actor admits that he and Rowan have had their differences, and he doesn’t really keep in touch with any of the Girl Meets World cast.

“I’ve run into Peyton [Meyer] quite a bit. Peyton is actually the only one I’ve really ran into since the show ended,” Uriah told M magazine. “I mean, Sabrina’s [Carpenter], you know traveling around and putting out music – which honestly sounds great. As for Rowan, Rowan doesn’t necessarily like me.”

He continued, “We’ve have a lot of [differences]. She doesn’t really like me. I don’t care. I mean, I don’t have anything against her. She’s a very, you know, passionate girl. She definitely wholeheartedly believes what she does. That video [he made for the end of the show] was just kind of like to calm the waters because the whole – I mean, I’m sure you all know the drama that went on about a year ago between the whole getting dragged stuff. You know, it was honestly just something to say – like look, you know you did good. You made a show that really mattered to people and really helped a lot of people.”

“I don’t expect to be hanging out with them, but they’re really good people,” Uriah added.

Corey Fogelmanis Knows Exactly Where 'Girl Meets World's Farkle Would Be in 10 Years Time

Corey Fogelmanis Knows Exactly Where 'Girl Meets World's Farkle Would Be in 10 Years Time

Since we’re not getting any sort of closure on Girl Meets World, we have to dream about the endings our fave characters would get.

Maya would for surely be going to art school, Riley would still be trying to make the world a better place, maybe Lucas would go back to Texas…but what about Farkle?

Corey Fogelmanis, who played the boy genius on the show, has an idea — and it’s a good one.

“Flash forward 10 years, wow. I don’t know,” Corey joked recently. “I feel like he would have a doctorate degree in something since he’s college bound.”

But one thing that he knows for sure? The six friends would still be friends.

“I would hope the core six would all still be friends and probably exploring the friendships more,” he adds.

Awww, we like that idea, too.

'Girl Meets World' Showrunner Reveals What Would Have Happened in Season Four

Girl Meets World might not have gotten the ending it deserved, but showrunner Michael Jacobs just revealed how the series would have ended for fans.

In a series of new tweets this morning (May 4th), he told dedicated Girl Meets World fans some of the things that would’ve happened in season four and ended with some true Mr. Feeny wisdom.

“Grateful to all who have written in support of the show. You are who we did it for. And now to keep a promise: Season 4 would’ve shown that what drew Farkle, Lucas and Zay to Riley and Maya was the deep friendship and respect they had for each other.”

“And their relationship was the guide in how to meet the world. Especially our current world. Because to find love, friendship and respect must be at the center of it. Cory and Topanga always knew that. So, as you all meet this world, we wish you friendship, respect and love.”

“Oh, and Auggie and Ava were forever.”

'Girl Meets World' Showrunner Confirms Show Won't Return

This is majorly sad news — Girl Meets World is officially done.

After the series’ unjust cancellation at Disney Channel, showrunner Michael Jacobs tried to find another network or streaming service for the show to continue.

However, in a tweet posted this morning, he confirms that the show is completely over.

“I wasn’t able to find a new venue for the show,” he tells the fans. “I’m sorry. We brought our best and hope we made you think and feel.”

Michael adds, “Until next time. Thanks.”

We’re so sad to see this end.

This Mini 'Girl Meets World' Reunion Will Hit You Right in the Feels

This Mini 'Girl Meets World' Reunion Will Hit You Right in the Feels

Awww! If you’ve been feeling sentimental for Girl Meets World (which, let’s be honest, we all have), this mini reunion will leave you aching with nostalgia.

Ava Kolker (Ava Morgenstern), Ceci Balagot (Smackle), and Cooper Friedman (Dewey) reunited at a Say NO Bullying event in Los Angeles on Saturday, and of course paused to photograph the gathering.

“It’s a mini #girlmeetsworld reunion,” Ava‘s Instagram says, “Miss you Ceci.”

Could this cast be any cuter? The show may be over, but with Rowan Blanchard‘s on-screen mom telling her she’s going to change the world and August Maturo wishing Mr. Feeny happy birthday, it’s clear that this group is more than a family on-screen.

It's a mini #girlmeetsworld reunion. Miss you Ceci.
