“THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN. WOW,” Hayley excitedly wrote on Twitter.
“Being in the World Pride parade was a sea of emotions. To witness older generations of the LGBTQ+ family cheering us on from the side lines. Waving their flags and beaming with pride, even if they came alone,” she added on Instagram. “Everyone shared such an immense pride in representing our community, past and present. It was a reminder that we all need to lead not only our generation but encourage and fight for our future generations. To make life a little bit better, a little bit safer, a little bit sweeter. Kailee Morgue has released her catchy new song “Headcase!”
The “Siren” crooner joined forces with “Feelings” singer Hayley Kiyoko for the empowering track.
The song features a sample of The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?.†Written by Kailee, “Headcase” was inspired by Kailee’s struggles with her mental health and bipolar disorder.
“When I wrote this song, I knew I wanted a strong female artist like Hayley on the track to not only represent the LGBTQ community, but to help translate the idea of owning your issues,” Kailee said.
“I’m such a fan of Kailee’s music, and when she sent me ‘Headcase’ I really connected with the song right away,” Hayley added. “I was in a dark place of figuring out my own mental health at the time, and I related so much to the lyrics. That’s such a normal feeling, like you’re going crazy sometimes and can’t quite make sense of your emotions. It just felt like a perfect song for us to collaborate on.â€
