James Charles & Chef Aaron May Speak Out In Support of Charli D'Amelio

James Charles & Chef Aaron May Speak Out In Support of Charli D'Amelio

Charli and Dixie D’Amelio have been receiving a lot of hate and backlash this week after their recent family YouTube video.

The D’Amelios launched a new series on their channel where Chef Aaron May cooks up a meal and they have a special guest come over and join them.

In the first episode, James Charles was the guest, and at one point, they give Dixie a snail to try, and it makes her throw up. Then Charli says, “Do we have any dino nuggets?”

Since the video’s release, a lot of people have been calling them disrespectful, rude, snobs, and more, and the sisters have been receiving threats of violence and a lot of hate comments. Charli has even lost a significant amount of followers on TikTok.

Dixie shared a video on her TikTok, addressing all the backlash.

“My family and I have been working with Chef Aaron May for a couple of months now, working on content for our channel and working on content for his channel, and [we’ve] made an amazing friendship,” she said. “Before I even get into anything, I’m so grateful for every single person that follows me, every single person I care about, every single person I work with, every single person who works with me because I’m just so grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had.”

“My team knows I throw up a lot. I throw up at the smell, the thought or the taste of anything,” Dixie added. “So, when they saw the snails, they were like, ‘Oh, let’s get her and try to see if we can get a reaction out of her.’ … I love [our] chef, and I would never disrespect him in any way.”

James has also shared a tweet defending Charli.

“this charli situation is NOT sitting right with me… 100M followers in one year & y’all expect her to know how to be a perfect role model? death threats because she’s a picky eater & made a joke about a milestone? 30+ year olds dragging someone half their age? feels familiar,” he wrote.

JoJo Siwa & James Charles Give Each Other Makeovers With Their Styles!

JoJo Siwa & James Charles Give Each Other Makeovers With Their Styles!

We are sister shook!

JoJo Siwa and James Charles just shared their new videos, where they give each other a makeover.

JoJo did James‘ makeup with her infamous heart star logo, full of glitter and one of her sparkly costumes. James did JoJo over with a super glam look, the complete opposite of her normal look.

Earlier in the week, James teased their collab on Twitter, writing, “I just filmed a collab that you guys will NEVER see coming…,” along with a bow emoji.

After the videos were released, James said he is getting death threats.

“I said today’s collab was with someone I I waited two years to work with & I was so excited for and now I’m getting death threats because stan twitter assumed it would be their fav and it wasn’t … there are a TON of huge artists I’d love to film with one day, be patient!” he wrote.

“I liked a few tweets from fans saying they wanted me to collab with their favs because I also would love to collab with their favs … if I DID collab with their favs, today would’ve been full of ‘stay away from her’ tweets anyway … leave me alone,” he added.

James Charles Apologizes to Alicia Keys After 'Microagressive' Subtweet About Her New Beauty Line

James Charles Apologizes to Alicia Keys After 'Microagressive' Subtweet About Her New Beauty Line

James Charles is issuing a statement and apology to Alicia Keys after subtweeting about her.

On Wednesday (August 5), it was revealed that the Grammy award winning singer would be teaming up with the brand E.L.F. for a new “lifestyle beauty brand.”

Alicia retweeted the news that night, adding, “Ya’ll have been asking about my skin care routine…”

After finding out about the news, James tweeted about celebrities coming out with makeup lines.

“people who do not wear makeup should not be coming out with makeup brands but that’s just my opinion,” he wrote in a now deleted tweet.

James has now released a note apologizing for his “microaggression against someone I respect.

“Yesterday I posted a subtweet about how I thought some celebrities shouldn’t launch makeup lines. It was about @aliciakeys. A few years ago, she announced that she no longer would wear makeup, so I was bothered because many celebrities come into the beauty space as a cash grab without any actual passion and then leave,” he wrote. “I deleted the tweet after a few mins because it’s childish to indirect tweet someone & I am not the gatekeeper of makeup.”

“I’m not glad that I DID delete it because after reading further, I learned that the beauty line is SKINCARE,” James added. “Regardless of my intention with my tweet, it ended up being a microaggression against someone I respect, so to @aliciakeys I owe a direct apology – I’m sorry.”
