JD McCrary belts out a song on stage at the 2018 Grammy Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.
The young entertainer hit the stage with his live-action Lion King costar Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, for a duel performance of “Terrified.”
If you don’t know, Donald will be playing the adult version of Simba in the upcoming movie.
Childish Gambino is up for a few awards tonight at the Grammys, including record of the year for “Redbone” and album of the year for Awaken, My Love!

We already were so excited for the live-action remake of The Lion King and now this video of the film’s Young Simba actor JD McCrary singing is getting us even more excited.
The talented singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said that he has been singing since he was in diapers, plus that he idolizes Michael Jackson.
When asked about playing Simba, JD said, “I feel like me and Simba have a lot of similarities. We can both sing, we both love and look up to our dads, and we both have really scary uncles.”
