Chris Brochu gets a little lift from his Lemonade Mouth cast mates as they make an appearance in Downtown Disney at Studio Disney 365 at Disneyland earlier this week.
Ranking as the No. 1 TV Telecast among Kids 6-11 (2.3 million/9.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million/8.5 rating), and cable’s No. 1 original movie of 2011 among Total Viewers (5.7 million), the Lemonade Mouth crew not only had that to celebrate — but some soundtrack feets as well!
The Lemonade Mouth soundtrack is No. 1 on the iTunes Soundtrack chart and is the No. 4 Album overall. Moreover, hit songs “Somebody,” “Determinate” and “Don’t Ya Wish U Were Us” rank in the Radio Disney Top 30.
Congrats to the cast and crew. Check out a vid from MTV below!
JustJaredJr.com had the chance to chat with the 19-year-old actress last week about the movie, her music and why she thinks Lemonade Mouth will make a difference. Check it:
JJJ: Lemonade Mouth is based on the book of the same name. Did you read it before hand? Hayley Kiyoko: I did! I love the book because it really goes by each character’s point of view and if you have the book, you’ll see that for each character, the font is different. I love that. It’s the coolest thing. It just adds…Mark Peter Hughes did such a great job with the book. The characters literally jump off of the page. He did all the work for me when I was researching for Stella. I read Stella’s part and was completely done. I knew, in and out, who she was and what she was about. Way to go Mark!
JJJ: What was your favorite song from the movie? HK: All of us loved “Breakthrough.” We got to perform on this huge stage and there was lighting and Co2 power and we did that all day. That was so much fun. But I also really enjoyed “Somebody” in the detention room. It’s an emotional part of the movie. I think that was the actual first time we were playing together on set and the crew hadn’t seen us perform before that. It was so cool because it hit us that we were really making this movie and hopefully going to make a difference for young kids. We would actually practice that song and the others outside of the set. We’d be back in our hotel rooms practicing the songs and we’d all help each other out with the taps or the bass.

Chris Brochu and Nick Roux hit up the yellow carpeted premiere of Lemonade Mouth held at Stevenson Middle School on Tuesday afternoon (April 12) in Los Angeles.
The actors star as Ray and Scott, respectively, two members of Lemonade Mouth’s rival band, Mudslide Crush.
Chris seemed to agree with both Adam Hicks and Bridgit Mendler though — if Lemonade Mouth ever went on tour, Mudslide Crush would have to open for them.
“Lemonade Mouth keeps the party going, but Mudslide Crush gets the party started. You can’t start the party without a Crush,” Chris shared.
Adam Hicks buddies up with costar Blake Michael at the yellow carpet premiere of Lemonade Mouth held at Stevenson Middle School on Tuesday afternoon (April 12) in Los Angeles.
Once the duo arrived, they headed straight for the “pit” — a gated off area across from the carpet to sign a ton of autographs for fans waiting their arrival.
Adam, 18, stopped to chat with us and told us why Lemonade Mouth was a dream come true. Check out the video!
Hayley Kiyoko hams it up on the yellow carpet with costar Chris Brochu as they premiere their new Disney Channel original movie, Lemonade Mouth, at Stevenson Middle School on Tuesday afternoon (April 12) in Los Angeles.
The 19-year-old actress wore a pink pink pink Rebecca Taylor dress with bejeweled Giuseppe Zanotti heels. Believe it or not, this was Hayley‘s first carpet in pink!
JJJ gave her the Pink Lemonade title, which is even more ironic because Hayley isn’t a lemonade fan! “I don’t hate lemonade but…I’m more of an Arnold Palmer girl, which is iced tea and lemonade. That’s my thing. The sour-ness of lemonade is a bit too much for me,” she shared with us.
Bridgit Mendler is a sight for sore eyes at the premiere of her new Disney Channel original movie, Lemonade Mouth, at Stevenson Middle School on Tuesday afternoon (April 12) in Los Angeles.
The 18-year-old actress wore a stunning silver metallic Dolce&Gabbana dress with a pair of her own strappy heels.
When JJJ asked Bridgit about who would tour with Lemonade Mouth on the road, she told us, “Mudslide Crush! It has to be them (laughs).”
