Sofia Carson, Maddie & Tae & More - New Music Friday 3/26

Sofia Carson dropped her fire new song “Fool’s Gold” on Friday (March 26)!

The 27-year-old, who also hosted a segment on Disney’s new SiriusXM channel that day, not only dropped the track, but the music video as well.

The visual for “Fool’s Gold” was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who has directed numerous videos for Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and more.

Country duo Maddie & Tae released their new, upbeat song “Woman You Got.”

“This song is the most autobiographical song we have ever written,” Maddie said of the song. “Our hope is that this song is an anthem for all our fans, male and female!”

Also releasing new songs this Friday and earlier in the week include JVCKJ, Dylan Conrique, JESSIA, Lil Nas X, Gunnar Gehl, Lucy Cloud and Julia Michaels.

AJR debuted their new album OK Orchestra, and Justin Bieber released the “Triple Chucks Deluxe” version of his Justice album, which features new songs with Jaden Smith, Tori Kelly, DaBaby, Quavo and more.

Miley Cyrus and Lil Nas X are still close friends and they just met up for dinner!

The two music stars were seen having dinner at Nobu, a popular sushi restaurant, with friends on Friday night (February 19) in Malibu, Calif.

After dinner, they continued the night by stopping by the private members club Soho House next door.

Miley has been friends with Lil Nas X ever since he collaborated with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus on the song “Old Town Road,” which won them both their first Grammy Awards.

In a recent interview, the young rapper opened up about plans for a collaboration with Miley and we sure hope it happens.

Lil Nas X is opening up about wanting to collaborate with Miley Cyrus!

The 21-year-old Grammy winner recently shared that the pandemic halted plans to work with the 28-year-old singer.

When asked about having thought of collaborating with Miley, Nas told Andy Cohen, “Yeah, 100. I had plans to work on this one song with Miley earlier last year, and then the pandemic happened. So we didn’t get to like meet up or anything, but, you know, maybe it’ll happen now.”

Lil Nas X and Miley have been close friends for a while after he worked on “Old Town Road” with her dad Billy Ray.

The pair did recently work together on the Amazon Music “Holiday Plays,” where they both performed, and he even did a Q&A with her.

Zendaya, Lil Nas X, Marsai Martin & More Nominated For BET Awards 2020!

The nominees for the 2020 BET Awards were announced this week!

The annual awards show celebrates African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

Among this year’s nominees include Zendaya for Best Actress, Lil Nas X for Best New Artist, Chloe x Halle, who will also performing, for Best Group, and Marsai Martin, Miles Brown and Storm Reid for the Young Stars Award.

Drake, Lizzo, Travis Scott, Beyonce, The Weeknd, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Asantee Black are also among the nominees.

The BET Awards will be taking place virtually of course, with BET announcing in a statement, “Using an array of innovative techniques and artist-generated content, the show will continue, allowing the audience to join in a celebration of black love, joy, pride and power with an all-star lineup.”

This year’s ceremony will take place on June 28th, airing across ViacomCBS networks including BET, BET HER, and making it’s broadcast debut on CBS, starting at 8pm ET/PT.

Lil Nas X on Black Out Tuesday: 'We Need To Be Louder Than Ever'

Lil Nas X is speaking out on “Black Out Tuesday“.

The 21-year-old rapper shared late Monday night (June 1) that he didn’t think that it was the best idea during this time.

“i know y’all mean well but… bro saying stop posting for a day is the worst idea ever,” he started out on Twitter. “i just really think this is the time to push as hard as ever. i don’t think the movement has ever been this powerful. we don’t need to slow it down by posting nothing. we need to spread info and be as loud as ever.”

“not tryna be announcing but what if we posted donation and petitions links on instagram all at the same time instead of pitch black images,” he said.

Lil Nas X retweeted Dillon Francis, who said, “Yeah and now the hashtag is blank on Instagram because of everyone hashtagging black squares,” and added, “this is not helping us. bro who the hell thought of this?? ppl need to see what’s going on”

The objective of “Black Out Tuesday” is to put a pause on promoting yourself, your work, your art, etc, and amplify the voices, work and messages of the black community.
