Lili Reinhart‘s new movie Chemical Hearts is finally out now!

The 23-year-old actress stars as Grace Town in the film, and she’s also an executive producer.

“It was a lot of work and it was cool to be an executive producer, to actually have a say in things,” she told EW. “It’s something that I wasn’t used to, having that influence. But it was an incredibly collaborative experience.”

“People haven’t really seen what I’m fully capable of,” Lili added, about taking on a new character. “Maybe they only see me as being on a commercial television show, and I hope that this shows people that my heart is really in film. I want people to see me as something other than Betty Cooper. It’s hard to break out of that mold.”

Lili Reinhart recently opened up about the upcoming fifth season of Riverdale, and dishing that there will be a seven year time jump.

“So we’re taking the first two episodes to finish Season 4, technically, and Season 5, we’re actually doing a, I believe, seven year time jump into the future,” the 23-year-old said on The Tonight Show. “We’re not going to be teenagers anymore.”

“I’m really psyched about it,” Lili added. “I think it’ll be really nice to play an adult. You know? But I also appreciate that Roberto, our show runner was like, ‘yeah, let’s revamp’… We’re not just stuck in high school for seven seasons.”

Lili also shared what it will be like with everyone coming back off of quarantine.

“So we’re all going to be significantly… Tanner?” she told Jimmy Fallon. “Maybe… I’ve gained weight in quarantine, so I’ll look a little different? It’s like, it’s like… five months. It did make quite a difference, I think, it’ll be easy to tell when we filmed in March, when we filmed in September.”

Cole Sprouse is speaking out about his relationship with Lili Reinhart.

The 28-year-old actor shared a photo of his 23-year-old ex and co-star and addressed their breakup.

“Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March. What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter,” Cole wrote on Instagram.

He also promoted her new movie Chemical Hearts, which comes out this weekend!

“Also her movie comes out soon! I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does. Thanks guys ❤️,” he added.

Cole‘s statement comes just a day after quotes from a recent interview Lili did were taken out of context.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday (August 18), quotes from a recent interview the 23-year-old actress did were misconstrued and taken out of context.

Lili opened up about her depression over the last few months and referenced heartache, and many were led to believe she was commenting on her split from Cole Sprouse.

“Quotes taken from my most recent interview are not about a ‘breakup.’ They are about the depression I’ve felt over these last few months. Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story for clickbait,” she wrote on Twitter.

“I would never speak so candidly about something as personal as a breakup. That’s incredibly private. I was addressing my depression,” Lili added in another tweet.

Lili Reinhart just gave an extremely vulnerable interview where she seemed to discuss the aftermath of her split from Cole Sprouse.

“The last couple of months have probably [been] the most emotional few months of my entire life and my therapist [told] me, ‘Your body’s going through withdrawal from love/ ‘You’re used to having this exchange of happy chemicals between you and the person that you’re with.’ In moments of my life, I have dropped every ounce of pride that I had just to be like, Love me. Please take the pain away for a day, a second, an hour, just so I can feel that fix again,” Lili shared in her interview with Refinery29.

“This has been the first time in four years where I’ve been able to like stop and process the immense life changes that I’ve gone through…[I felt like a] black tunnel [that] was never going to end…I couldn’t see the light. I was like, I feel like I’m dying. It was f*cking rough, and there’s no other way through it than just through it. I’ve seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there. I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my sh*t. I had to face my own pain head-on.”

Lili also spoke about her new collection of poems, “Swimming Lessons,” being released next month. “I felt the need to write that because I was scared — and I am scared — that people are going to try and create their own idea of what my love life looked or looks like. I’m not saying, My boyfriend f*cked another woman. I’m saying, I felt betrayed.”

The new film, based off the book “Our Chemical Hearts” by Krystal Sutherland, is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 21st.

Here’s a synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Henry Page (Abrams) has never been in love. He fancies himself a romantic, but the kind of once-in-a-lifetime love he’s been hoping for just hasn’t happened yet. Then, on the first day of senior year, he meets transfer student Grace Town (Reinhart) and it seems all that is about to change.

When Grace and Henry are chosen to co-edit the school paper, he is immediately drawn to the mysterious newcomer. As he learns the heartbreaking secret that has changed her life, he finds himself falling in love with her —or at least the person he thinks she is.

Chemical Hearts also stars Sarah Jones, Adhir Kalyan, Kara Young and Coral Peña.

Lili Reinhart is getting candid about struggling with anxiety during the pandemic.

In a recent Instagram live, the 23-year-old actress opened up about how the current health crisis has caused her anxiety to go up.

“I’ll have a very simple task…to do, but you know, I don’t want to do it,” Lili said. “Say, going to the post office. Like, I really don’t want to drive to the post office. It gives me anxiety because I don’t want to have to leave my dog; I don’t want to have to deal with going out in public; I don’t want to do the mask thing. I would, but like I don’t want to put myself in a stressful environment.”

“I get myself hyped up about very dumb things. And I do that all the time. I remind myself, ‘Why the hell are you stressing yourself out about going to the damn post office?’” she added.

Lili also opened up about finally having a chance to sit down and process all the fame and everything since starting Riverdale.

“Things took off in my career and in my life around four years ago, and I never really had a significant amount of time to just process everything, and process fame, and my kind of new world that I am living in,” Lili said. “It’s been a very important time for me—the past four months—to just process things.”

She added that she’s been filling up her days with books, therapy and other things.

“I’ve very much been…just trying to take full advantage of this very rare time, where I don’t have much to do and deal with my own little box of trauma in the back of my head that I wouldn’t normally ever want to sift through, you know?” she shared. “I’m fortunate enough that I can have therapy every week; and I can, you know, outsource for, you know, certain methods of healing, like Reiki or something like that, maybe a lot of people don’t have the opportunity to do.”
