The 21-year-old “Green Light” singer wrote an open letter that was published in the New Zealand Herald as a full-page ad.

“Oh, hi there! I’m writing this from New York City. [My brother] Angelo and I sat in Madison Square Garden last night and saw a lot of crazy and wonderful things,” Lorde wrote in the note. “I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for loving and embracing Melodrama the way you did. My nomination belongs to you. Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians. You set a beautiful precedent! All my love, Lorde.”

At the top of the letter, Lorde wrote tiny notes like: “Met Stevie Nicks and almost cried;” “Jay-Z‘s hands are really soft;” “Melo 4ever;” and SZA with a crown over her name.

Lorde Wears Jenny Holzer Poem On Back of Dress at Grammys Instead of White Rose

While most chose to wear or carry a white rose to the 2018 Grammy Awards tonight, Lorde showed her support for the #TimesUp movement with a poem.

The quote is from Jenny Holzer‘s “Inflammatory Essays”: “Rejoice! Our times are intolerable. Take coverage for the worst is a harbinger of the best. Only dire circumstance can precipitate the overthrow of oppressors. The old and corrupt must be laid to waste before the just can triumph. Contradiction will be heightened. The reckoning will be hastened by the staging of seed disturbances. The apocalypse will blossom.”

“My version of a white rose – THE APOCALYPSE WILL BLOSSOM – an excerpt from the greatest of all time, jenny holzer,” Lorde captioned her post. See it below!

Lorde Thinks It's Crazy She's The Only Woman Nominated For Album of the Year at the Grammys

When you take a first look at the nominations for the 2018 Grammys, you’ll notice that Lorde is the only woman nominated for Record of the Year.

She’s actually proud of that too, she revealed to Billboard in this week’s issue.

“It was the middle of the night, and I was aware that the nominations were coming out, and I’d done that thing where I’d convinced myself that [I wouldn't be nominated],” she remembers about hearing about her nomination. “I was getting over it in my mind, like, ‘You still made a great record.’”

Lorde also says that while she psyched herself out that she wouldn’t get any, she did, and it changed her outlook: “And then a friend found me and told me, and we were the only people in this room who knew. It was such a special moment.”

“It’s crazy I’m the only woman in my category, and I feel very proud of that,” she says. “I’m wearing that mantle for sure.”

Lorde adds, “But I’m also stoked that I’m in there with four incredible artists of color — it’s a big moment for the Grammys. It’s exciting when these institutions move in the right way. To me, that is a huge victory.”
