Writer/producer Simon Kinberg recently defended the film after speculation that the movie faced trouble during production. “I am proud of it,” Simon told EW. “It’s not a disaster. It’s a good movie. I find Fantastic Four a hard book to adapt. I think the tone is very tricky it. It’s deceptively simple. Figuring out the comedy and the drama and the powers themselves are hard to fit into a tone that is as grounded as we wanted to make it. But I’m happy with the way that it turned out. I really love this cast, and I want to keep making movies with them.”
“What I do think we had was a very young director making a very big movie. And a director that, for whatever reason, people were either rooting against or his personality troubled the press. So it just got viewed differently than any other movie that’s a tough movie. We came in on schedule, under budget, [with] a movie that was pretty true to the original intent of the film. Whether people like it or not, it was his vision, which was a more grounded, a much more real version of Fantastic Four. Was it an easy production? No. Was it harder than a lot of the movies I’ve been on? No. But I may also have a higher threshold. I think there was something about Josh’s identity that made him a good target. I’m not sure what that is,” Simon added.

The two Fantastic Four actors joined their co-stars Kate Mara and Jamie Bell to promote their upcoming movie.
“Once I was cast, my dad revealed that, when he was my age, Fantastic Four was his favourite comic book. So I was like, ‘Well that’s gotta be kind of tricky, man. That now, at age 60, your son is playing this character that you grew up with,’” Miles dished during a recent interview.
Miles added about the flick, “I think I speak for all us that I was very excited by the cast. Hopefully, we’ll be making these films for many years. I think the casting of it was, yes, by far one of the most interesting parts about it. I don’t think people saw us individually as these characters at all. But they wanted to cast actors that maybe had a footing in dramatic acting, and I think that’s served us well for the story.”

Michael B. Jordan is all smiles while stopping by the Univision Studios for a talk show appearance on Friday (July 31) in Miami, Fla.
The 28-year-old actor was joined for the appearance by his Fantastic Four co-stars Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.
Earlier in the week, Michael and Kate did an interview for a radio station and were asked about their characters Johnny Storm and Sue Storm being siblings. “From what I’ve seen, you’re brother and sister. Am I missing something?” an interviewer asked them.
When they said “no,” the reporter said, “But you’re white and you’re black. How does that happen?”
Michael gave a perfect response (via Buzzfeed): “They could be raised as brother and sister. There’s a whole bunch of family dynamics that could be without the ‘obvious adoption.’”
