The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations have just been revealed!

The annual show will be a two night event this year, taking place on Sunday, May 16th, and Monday, May 17th, and feature 25 gender-neutral categories.

Nominees include Zendaya for Best Performance in a Movie for Malcolm & Marie, Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio for Breakthrough Social Star and To All the Boys: Always and Forever for Best Movie.

Voting for the awards begins NOW through April 30th at vote.mtv.com!

Nicholas Hoult was sure to dress up, even though he couldn’t attend in person at the 2021 Golden Globes on Sunday (February 28)!

The 31-year-old actor suited up and snapped some photos from London, where he’s currently filming is Hulu series.

Nicholas was nominated that night for Best Actor In a Comedy TV show for his role on The Great, but lost out to Jason Sudeikis. This was his first Golden Globes nomination!

The Great and his co-star Elle Fanning were also nominated for Best Comedy Television Series, and Best TV Actress in a Comedy, but they both lost in their categories as well.

“Golden Globes are tonight! All dressed up with nowhere to go, but something to watch! So proud of my @thegreathulu family, honoured to be nominated alongside so many friends and people I love. Thank you @goldenglobes @armanibeauty @giorgioarmani @jaegerlecoultre 📸 @gregwilliamsphotography,” Nicholas captioned a post on Instagram of his outfit.

FYI: Nicholas is wearing a Giorgio Armani suit and a Jaeger-LeCoultre time piece.

The 2021 Golden Globes nominations were just announced on Wednesday morning (February 3)!

Among the nominees in comedy acting categories are The Great co-stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, and Emily In Paris‘ Lily Collins.

Both shows are also nominated in the Best Television – Musical or Comedy category.

Lily‘s Netflix movie Mank is also up for several awards, the most for a film this year, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and more.

“So honored to be nominated for a Golden Globe! I’m beaming for both my @emilyinparis family (my first project as a producer!) – and the incredible @mank team. What a wild morning! Ecstatic and grateful doesn’t even begin to cut it…” Lily shared on Instagram.

Also up for awards are Disney films Onward and Soul, as well as the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Though there were historic nominations this year, like most female director nominees in a single year, there were also a lot of surprises and snubs. Many fans were upset that shows Insecure and I May Destroy you were completely snubbed.

It was just announced that The Great is coming back for a second season!

The satirical Hulu dramedy series, which stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, has been renewed for a 10-episode season two.

The Great is about the rise of Catherine the Great from outsider to the longest-reigning female ruler in Russia’s history, with only occasional historical facts.

The series was one of the top performing original comedies on the streaming service in 2020, and it only premiered less than two months ago!

Elle not only stars as Catherine the Great in the series, but she also serves as executive producer, and couldn’t hide her excitement about the news.

“I can’t hold it any longer! THE GREAT is renewed for a SEASON 2!!!!! Okay, now seriously @nicholashoult I’m going to get you this time…” she wrote on Instagram.

Elle Fanning shares a big laugh with co-star Nicholas Hoult during their panel at the 2020 Winter TCA Tour on Friday afternoon (January 17) in Pasadena, Calif.

The two actors were joined at the annual press event by producer Marian Macgowan and showrunner Tony McNamara as they chatted about their new Hulu series, The Great.

“We pride ourselves on not being historically accurate, so there is room to experiment,” Elle said during the event about how the series throws out historical accuracy.

She added, “You can look at so many oil paintings of someone, but they probably didn’t even look that way. So, it doesn’t help me so much as the script does with capturing the character that Tony has created, her essence, and what’s her journey.”

Sophie Turner waves to the cameras while arriving for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon (June 4).

The 23-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Tye Sheridan, Nicholas Hoult, Jessica Chastain, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy to talk up the final X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, just ahead of the premiere.

Lily Collins strikes a pose on the green carpet at the premiere of Tolkien on Wednesday (May 8) at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, Calif.

The 30-year-old actress looked super chic in a multicolored pastel dress as she was joined at the premiere by co-star Nicholas Hoult, who looked so handsome in a light pink suit.
