Nick Jonas is opening up about his love for Olivia Rodrigo‘s music!

The 28-year-old “This Is Heaven” singer talked about some of his favorite tracks with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, which includes the smash hit “drivers license,” and his brothers actually introduced him to the song.

“I heard the song after Joe and Kevin unknowingly both sent me the song and said, ‘Have you heard this?’ I listened to it. And so I was like, ‘Wow, this is great,’” Nick said.

“It actually reminded me of some of the things I love about musical theater and didn’t really make the connection that it was her. But there was another song from the High School Musical show that I really loved, as well. ‘All I Want.’ And I was like, ‘Man, she’s super talented, super young, and able to speak to these things that are sort of these big, universal themes,’” he continued.

“But anytime you can write the song in a way where it just connects on a very human level that’s specific to your experience, it was just phenomenal. And then I was just so happy to see it breakthrough in the way it did, because it just shows… My dad always used to say this, and it just makes perfect sense to me. He’d be like, ‘A great song is a great song is a great song.’ And when you have that and it connects in that way, the sky’s the limit.”

“And so I saw recently that it was her 18th birthday, and she was celebrating one of her multiple, multiple weeks at #1, so hats off to her. Congrats. It’s very exciting. And I just think it’s very good for the music business in general to have songs like this that kind of hit. In the movie business, we say four quadrant. It means it hits every age group,” Nick concluded.

Olivia‘s song spent eight weeks at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and this is the first week since it’s release that it has fallen from the top spot. It is now at the No 5 spot.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra got all dolled up to announce the nominations for the 2021 Oscars on Monday (March 15).

The couple were on hand from London to reveal the nominees together.

“Here we go! @priyankachopra and I are revealing the #OscarNoms this morning 😎 Tune-in to any of @TheAcademy accounts to watch live!” Nick shared on Instagram ahead of the live event.

This year’s Academy Awards ceremony will take place on April 25th from two locations – the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and Union Station in Los Angeles.

One exciting moment for Priyanka while revealing the nominees was when she got to announce the nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay. Her Netflix film The White Tiger is up for the award, for writer/director Ramin Bahrani.

“We just got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations Ramin and team #TheWhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud ❤️,” she shared on Instagram.

If you missed it, Nick just dropped the deluxe version of his new album Spaceman, and it features a brand new Jonas Brothers song!

Nick Jonas JUST released the deluxe edition of his new album Spaceman late at midnight on Monday morning (March 15)!

The 28-year-old’s new album has only been out for a few days before he dropped the deluxe.

The new edition features five new songs, including a new Jonas Brothers song called “Selfish”! The other tracks include “Dangerous” and the chill versions of “Don’t Give Up On Us,” “2Drunk” and “This Is Heaven.”

“The Deluxe version of #Spaceman will be landing TONIGHT at Midnight ET 🚀🧑‍🚀 5 more songs are headed your way including one featuring @joejonas and @kevinjonas. Told you @jonasbrothers weren’t going anywhere 😎,” Nick shared on social media on Sunday morning (March 14).

If you purchase the Target edition of Spaceman, you also get the chill versions of two other songs – “Heights” and “Nervous.”

Nick Jonas has new music out!

The 28-year-old singer released his latest solo album titled Spaceman at midnight on Friday (March 12).

Spaceman is the fourth solo album for Nick. He released his first solo studio album, titled Nicholas Jonas, in 2005 before he teamed up with brothers Kevin and Joe to create the Jonas Brothers.

During the band’s mini break-up, Nick released two more solo albums – Nick Jonas in 2014 and Last Year Was Complicated in 2016.

Hours before releasing the album, Nick dropped the steamy video for the title track “Spaceman.” Watch it here!

Nick Jonas just released his brand new music video for his single “Spaceman“!

The 28-year-old finally debuted the video, and just hours before his album of the same name is released.

In the video, which he’s been teasing since announcing the new music, he showed off multiple different looks, his wife Priyanka Chopra also makes a cameo appearance!

“I think the key for me was trying to find a way to give this idea a persona, give it a name. So ‘Spaceman’ came into my mind because I was thinking, ‘What’s the one thing that all of us have felt during this time?’” Nick previously told Apple Music about the song.

“It’s just completely disconnected from the world. We’ve gotten so accustomed to looking at a screen instead of human interaction, and I think the thing that keeps us all encouraged and hopeful is just the idea of knowing that there will be a tomorrow when this isn’t our reality, and I think the body of work as a whole tracks that,” he continued. “But it felt like the right thing to start with ‘Spaceman’ because it is such a stark visual and creative idea to then start the conversation of songs like ‘This Is Heaven,’ which I’m really excited about. It touches on some of the things I did with ‘Jealous’ and tracks like that, but in a new way, and just trying to continue to get better and evolve every day, push myself.”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are back together after spending a few months apart!

The cute couple were seen out on a walk on Sunday (March 7) in the Notting Hill neighborhood of London.

Joining the pair were their parents, Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr, and Madhu Chopra, as well as longtime Jonas family friend Cavanaugh James.

“After isolating and testing I’m so happy to finally have some family time!” Nick captioned a group selfie from their outing.

This is actually the first time that we’ve seen candid photos of the couple out and about together in over a year. The last time we’ve seen them out together was back in February 2020 in New York!

Priyanka has been living in London since last summer as she’s been filming multiple projects there. Nick was there for a while, but returned to LA and New York for work on The Voice and Saturday Night Live.

Nick Jonas has released the studio version of his new song “This Is Heaven“!

The 28-year-old musician and actor debuted the song last weekend on Saturday Night Live.

In a new interview with SiriusXM Hits 1, Nick opened up about what the song means.

“I mean, it’s sort of insane that we’re a year into this, you know, what’s crazy is that we entered lockdown on March 12th, 2020, and on March 12th. And that’s not by design necessarily,” Nick shared. That was sort of just like the right time to put it out. But it seems, you know, serendipitous that that’s the case. And even the last show that I performed live was on February 27th, which is the date of my first performance back on SNL.”

“So all of the stuff just sort of seemed like the stars were aligning and just, ‘This is Heaven’ in general, basically touches on that feeling of being reunited with your personal, you know, for context Pri [Priyanka Chopra] went to a shoot in Germany for a couple months while I was in LA working on the album,” he continued. “And also just, I was in LA working on other things and, and so that distance really settled in. And then when we finally were kind of back together after this time apart, I went back and wrote this song with Greg Kurstin and Mozella (who wrote the whole album with him).”

“It was just meant to encapsulate kind of that euphoric feeling of being with your person. And, you know, for me, it’s, it’s obviously a romantic thing, but I think, you know, for anybody that listens to this song, or as in, you know, kind of the, this moment, we’ve all been in, it’s really about that feeling of when we’re going to do that first normal thing again, or when we’re going to see that the friends and family we haven’t seen in almost a year or beyond,” Nick said. “And, it just is supposed to give you that feeling of truly throwing your hands up in the air and saying, Oh finally, you know, and, and that’s kind of the energy I wanted this chapter of the album to feel like, but this song, you know, it’s, it’s got the 80s feels a big influence for me on the sound of them was Peter Gabriel and Steve Winwood and weirdly things like Drake and The Weeknd as well. So it’s kind of got all these different 80s influences and inspirations, but this definitely has that Steve Winwood, Michael Bolton kind of feel with the sax solo and just, it’s a good time.”
