It’s the end of the line for Twitter’s app, Vine.

The service, which helped launch Cameron Dallas, Lele Pons, Nash and Haye Grier into super stardom, is shutting down.

Twitter, which acquired Vine in 2012 before the app had even launched, announced Thursday morning that it would be discontinuing the app in the coming months.

“You’ll be able to access and download your Vines. We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made,” Twitter shared in an announcement on Medium to current users.

Instagram Notifications Meme Goes Viral Despite Being Inaccurate

Instagram Notifications Meme Goes Viral Despite Being Inaccurate

A meme is going viral on Instagram informing users to turn on notifications for their favorite people to follow in order to ensure they see their posts once the timeline change happens.

As you may have heard, the social media app will be reordering your timeline to present content in order of how it thinks you will find posts interesting, rather than place everything in a chronological order as before.

The meme is inaccurate though as all posts will still be there for you to see, they’ll just be in a different order, according to BuzzFeed. If you turn on notifications for every person you follow, you’ll get a push notification to your phone every time someone posts, but it won’t make your timeline change to chronological order. So prepare for your phone to start blowing up with notifications if you follow suit!

Lots of celebs have joined the movement to tell their fans to turn on notifications, including Ashley Tisdale, Cameron Dallas, Carlos PenaVega, Jake Miller, and many more. See their posts below.

Instagram Announces Big Changes to Your Timeline

Instagram Announces Big Changes to Your Timeline

If you count on looking at your Instagram timeline based on the order that things are posted, you’re out of luck as the company just announced a big change to your timeline.

In the near future, an algorithm will be used to reorder the timeline based on content that you are most interested in as on average, people miss 70 percent of their feeds. The new change is to ensure you see the content you are definitely going to want to see.

“The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimizing the order – all the posts will still be there, just in a different order,” the company announced in a blog post.

“If your favorite musician shares a video from last night’s concert, it will be waiting for you when you wake up, no matter how many accounts you follow or what time zone you live in. And when your best friend posts a photo of her new puppy, you won’t miss it,” Instagram’s reps added. “We’re going to take time to get this right and listen to your feedback along the way. You’ll see this new experience in the coming months.”
