The CW Has Already Renewed 'Walker,' 'Riverdale' & 10 Other Shows!

The CW is issuing early renewals to many of it’s series!

The network just announced that 12 shows will be back for new seasons, according to Variety.

Among the early renewals include new show Walker, as well as Riverdale, The Flash, Legacies, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Nancy Drew, Roswell, New Mexico, In The Dark, Dynasty, and All American.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Roswell, New Mexico, In The Dark and Dynasty have yet to premiere their new seasons on the network.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said in a statement.

“As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of Walker, which debuted as our most watched series premiere in 5 years.”

The CW has also ordered five more episodes for Walker‘s current first season, and two more episodes of Superman & Lois, which premieres later this month.

Carina Adly MacKenzie Addresses Rumors On Her Exit From 'Roswell, New Mexico'

Carina Adly MacKenzie is setting the record straight.

Earlier in the day on Friday (July 10), it was announced that the Roswell, New Mexico creator had resigned from the show, where she served as an executive producer and co-showrunner.

In an article about her leaving the series, it was reported that Carina had tension with cast and crew, which led to her eventually leaving.

“Because there’s a lot of nonsense getting spread around, let me make it clear this decision has nothing to do with any of the cast, crew, or writers. I love them in an epic forever handprints-on-my-soul kinda way,” Carina wrote on Twitter. “Finding Liz Ortecho with Jeanine [Mason] has been a joy. I think any fan who joined us for a glass of wine on Instagram live during this shutdown knows there’s no ‘tension,’ so I’m just gonna go back to texting with her about the home reno projects we’re both working on and roll my eyes at that boring attempt to pit women against each other. What year is it?”

“As for ~secret anonymous sources~ revealing that I wasn’t in the writer’s room as much as I’d have liked to be, TRUE TRUE TRUE. 😂 Shooting on location while writing in LA is so hard. Thank god for my co-showrunner/friend/partner/champion Chris Hollier; together we could be in two places at once,” she continued.

“Over the last few months, the team and I broke the Season 3 story together, I had talks with the actors about the season character journeys. I put my finishing touches on the season premiere this week. But this is a business, and there were fundamental disagreements about a couple of things that were and are very important to me,” Carina concluded.

Back in June, Carina was very outspoken on Twitter about gay love scenes being cut from Roswell, New Mexico‘s airing on ITV in the UK.

Carina Adly MacKenzie Resigns as EP/Co-Showrunner of 'Roswell, New Mexico'

Carina Adly MacKenzie is leaving her role at Roswell, New Mexico!

The writer served as an executive producer and co-showrunner on the CW series, which she was also the creator of.

“I have made the difficult decision to resign from my role on Roswell, New Mexico,” she told THR. “I do not take this decision lightly, but ultimately due to fundamental differences, I must depart and entrust Roswell, New Mexico to capable hands. I am so proud of what we built over the last two years, and I believe in the heart and soul of the show: asking tough questions, striving to make the world better, amplifying marginalized voices, and fighting the good fight.”

Carina Adly MacKenzie has departed as executive producer/co-showrunner of Roswell, New Mexico,” a spokesperson for Warner Bros. TV said. “The third season of the series will return to The CW as part of the network’s 2021 midseason lineup.”

Carina has also worked on The Originals as a producer and writer, and she served as a writer on an episode of The Flash.
