Ruby Rose Breaks Silence Since Announcing She's Leaving 'Batwoman'

Ruby Rose is speaking out for the first time since revealing she’s exiting Batwoman.

The 34-year-old star of the show shocked fans when she announced she was no longer going to be a part of the series.

Now, Ruby is thanking fans, cast and crew for their support and for tuning in.

“Thank you everyone for coming on this journey. If I mentioned everyone it would be 1000 tags.. but Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and studio. It wasn’t an easy decision but those who know, know,” Ruby captioned a video.

“I didn’t want to not acknowledge everyone involved and how big this was for TV and for our community. I have stayed silent because that’s my choice for now but know I adore you all. I’m sure next season will be amazing also. Xxx *hangs up cowl and cape. Also @mysmarvel,” she continued.

If you missed it, these reasons were revealed for Ruby‘s exit from the CW show.

Ruby Rose Decided to Leave 'Batwoman' For These Reasons

We now know the reason why Ruby Rose decided to leave Batwoman, the role she originated in season one of The CW drama.

“It wasn’t 100-percent her decision,” a source told TV Line. “It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.”

Apparently, Ruby didn’t like the “long hours demanded of a lead TV role” and didn’t enjoy living in Vancouver, Canada, where the show was filmed.

The show’s second season is set to debut in January 2021.

Ruby Rose Cried While Reading This 'Batwoman' Scene

Ruby Rose had quite an emotional reaction to a scene in the latest episode of Batwoman!

The 33-year-old actress stars as the titular character and in the mid-season return, Batwoman came out as a lesbian to the public.

Showrunner Caroline Dries opened up about how Ruby reacted when she first read the script.

“She said she cried while she was reading it,” she told THR. “I know it meant a lot to her.”

Ruby even helped rewrite the script a little to get the moment just right.

“Interestingly, there was a line [in the script] where Parker says, ‘It doesn’t get better,’ and Kate says, ‘You know, you’re right Parker, it doesn’t get better.’” Caroline added. “Ruby wrote to me and said, ‘You know, a lot of people look up to this character and watch this show and they don’t want to hear the lead character say, You’re right, it doesn’t get better.’ So, we found a way to tweak it, so it could be like, it’s still hard out there, but you will get better if you start to love yourself more and embrace yourself. It was personal to both of us, so we wanted to make sure we got it right.”
