Dominic Sherwood wears a purple, floral blazer while attending the 2019 Australians In Film Awards held at InterContinental Los Angeles Century City on Wednesday (October 23) in Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old Shadowhunters actor was joined by Ruby Rose, who was honored that evening.
Ruby received the Create NSW Annette Kellerman Award, which celebrates a screen industry figure who has been a trailblazing role model for Australian women. Her xXx: Return of Xander Cage co-star Vin Diesel flew in from London to present her the award.
“Thank you Australians in film for this amazing honor. To @vindiesel for flying in from London to make the moment truly special and for giving me the strength to push through everything, always. To @riawna and @morganbeau for being my hype crew and my team for everything,” Ruby shared on Instagram.
“I genuinely do not know how I got so lucky to have this spirit and soul in my life. In and amongst the madness, the chaos and the ups and downs… You have always been my light. Your family is my family and i love you very much,” Ruby added with a video of Vin.
Ruby Rose flashes her pearly whites while making an appearance at Build Series on Monday (September 30) in New York City.
The 33-year-old actress went on the show to chat about her upcoming new show Batwoman.
Ruby and her co-star Rachel Skarsten recently opened up about the character of Alice on the show, who essentially is similar to the Joker in Batman.
“She’s just ruthless. She’s a sociopath,†Ruby told EW. “What makes Alice so terrifying is that you can’t tell if she’s 100 percent bad or evil.â€
“They’re both very, very strong, very independent, very intelligent, extremely capable, both intellectually and physically females,” Rachel added of both Alice and Batwoman. “So you have them on opposing sides, but you don’t know who can outwit the other, who can out-punch the other. It’s a toss-up. So I think that makes them amazing, amazing foes for one another. But then of course there is also some history that will come into it that I think complicates everything, but also feeds into them being great nemeses for each other.â€
Batwoman is reviving Batman’s Batcave in this new teaser trailer for the upcoming CW show!
In the teaser clip, Batwoman addresses the disappearance of her cousin Batman and heads to his lair. She then flips a switch to turn the lights on and see what she’s got to work with to continue the legacy.
Star Ruby Rose recently opened up about being first person to play the character in a live action version and the public scrutiny she may receive after it premieres.
“I auditioned a lot for the role. I think I’m doing a good job. I love the pilot, I love what I do,” she told The New York Times. “I can’t please everybody and some people will love it, some people will like it, some people will have thought I wouldn’t be good and might be impressed.”
“Some people might be like ‘I still hate her!’ And that’s fine. That’s life,” she added. “I’m not going to be on my deathbed one day like, ‘I wish strangers on the internet that I never met liked me more.’ I’m going to be thinking, ‘This is so awesome I got to play Batwoman for the first time, and no one else had played her.’ That’s my legacy and I’m going to own that.”
Batwoman premieres on Sunday, October 6th at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.
