Author Stephenie Meyer Reveals She's Working On More Stories In 'Twilight' World!

Twilight fans could be getting more from their favorite characters!

Stephenie Meyer recently opened up about starting work on two more books in the same world as the popular series.

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write,” she said during a live event with Books-A-Million earlier this month. “I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there.”

Stephenie added that they won’t be coming out any time soon though, and she actually wants to work on something different right now.

“I am not ready to do that right now. I want to do something brand-new. For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating, and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing,” she said.

Stephenie just recently released a new Twilight book called “Midnight Sun,” which is a retelling of the first book in the series, but from Edward’s point of view.

'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Announces 'Midnight Sun' Official Release Date!

Stephenie Meyer is officially releasing Twilight novel “Midnight Sun“!

The author teased fans last week with a countdown clock on her website, which many concluded it was related to the new book.

“Midnight Sun” is a retelling of Twilight, but from Edward Cullen’s point of view.

“I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of ‘Midnight Sun’ on August 4. It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if this was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so, so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore. Sorry about the bad timing. Hopefully this book can be a distraction from the real world,” Stephenie told GMA Monday morning (May 4).

“Midnight Sun” will be released on August 4th!

Is 'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Teasing Release of 'Midnight Sun'?

Author Stephenie Meyer has Twilight fans talking!

The writer’s website has been updated with a countdown clock, which will end at midnight on Monday (May 4).

Many fans are believing that she will be announcing “Midnight Sun“, which is a shelved Twilight spinoff.

The new book was a different version of the original, told by Edward’s point of view.

“While I was procrastinating some real editing work (I’m always at my most creative when procrastinating), I started to wonder how the first chapter of Twilight would read if it were written from Edward’s perspective,” she wrote on her website back in 2008. “There is so much more to his side of the story than there is to Bella’s in that first chapter. After all, Bella only knows that an incredibly gorgeous boy is looking at her funny. Meanwhile, Edward is suffering through one of the most momentous days of his very long life!”

“First there’s the shock and frustration of not being able to hear Bella’s thoughts, then the wild, monstrous reaction to her scent, followed by the incredible expenditure of self-control that it takes to not kill her,” she added. “His side of Bella’s first day at Forks High School is a hundred times more exciting than her own.”

Twilight Creator Stephenie Meyer is Working on New TV Series!

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has a new supernatural TV series in the works!

While the title, The Rook, might make you wonder if it will have anything to do with Twilight – Edward Cullen and Bella Swan did love to play chess, after all – it will actually be based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Daniel O’Malley.

Starz made the announcement on Friday (July 28) at the Summer TCA Press Tour.

Here’s the synopsis from Starz: “The Rook tells the story of a young woman who wakes up in a London park suffering total amnesia – surrounded by dead bodies, all wearing latex gloves. Pursued by shadowy paranormal adversaries, grappling with peculiar ‘abilities’ of her own, she must fight to uncover her past, and resume her position at the head of Britain’s most secret (supernatural) service… before the traitors who stole her memory can finish what they started.”

The Rook, set for a 2018 premiere date, will feature “one of the most fascinating and thrilling female protagonists on television,” according to Starz CEO Chris Albrecht (via Vanity Fair).

No word on casting yet, but Stephenie will co-executive produce.
