Stranger Things season four won’t be premiering until next year due to the pandemic, but the cast has finally returned to set to continue working on the upcoming episodes.
We have some brand new photos for you to check out!
Natalia Dyer was spotted in costume as Nancy Wheeler while filming a scene outside of the makeshift Hawkins High School on Thursday (October 1) in Atlanta, Ga.
The official Stranger Things account on Twitter teased the return to set that same day with a new photo. They posted a photo of the clap board with the caption, “meanwhile in the upside down…”
Production on season four initially began earlier this year, but it was paused after just a few weeks due to the pandemic. The new episodes are expected to premiere in 2021.
It was been revealed that production on season four is looking to resume on September 28th in Georgia, according to Deadline.
“As is the case with any production during the pandemic, the date is tentative and subject to change,” the publication adds.
The hit Netflix series, like every other production, had to shut down earlier this year due to the pandemic. They were just a couple of weeks into production, and even shared a fun video from the cast reuniting at the first table read of season four.
The 16-year-old actress dished on her hopes for Eleven in season four and beyond.
“Oh my god, she’s been through so much, I just hope she’s happy. I always say to the [Duffer Brothers], ‘Can she just not smile like in one take?’ I would love her story to be rounded off by like a good ending. I trust the Duffer brothers so much that it’s going to be beautiful and I’m going to love it no matter what it is,” Millie told Glamour UK. “But I’d love for her to get her powers back because she is a hero, she is like a super woman in a way.”
“And she loves Mike – I want them to get married. That’s what I need. I need a wedding scene for Stranger Things, period,” she added. “Eleven in a wedding dress and her going, ‘Sorry, my nose is bleeding. It’s a white dress.’ Doesn’t it just seem like it would fit.â€
Now, the creators of the show, Matt and Ross Duffer, are giving fans a little tease on what to expect in the new season.
“Everyone’s excited to get back to work, but the priority is the safety of the cast and crew, and that will dictate when we go back,” Ross told THR.
“We’ve had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we’re able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments,” Matt added.
“Season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story,” Ross shared.
He also said that they “want each season to feel different, as opposed to re-creating the same thing over and over again.”

Stranger Things shut down production for the foreseeable future last week.
The hit Netflix series joined many other shows and movies that put a stop to filming amid the Coronavirus outbreak.
Now, executive producer Shawn Levy is opening up about having to shut down after only a month back.
“I was having phone calls with Netflix while directing takes and blocking scenes,†he told Variety. “We shared the news with our cast and crew that we would be pausing production out of an abundance of caution. There were no sick crew members, no one was exhibiting symptoms, but it seemed like the right thing to do.â€
“When you’re shooting, you create this micro society, this community. You’re aware of the world beyond, but in all of my years directing and producing, I’m hard pressed to come up with any comparisons for this truly global situation,†he added.
Shawn said that it was bittersweet to have to shut down because “we felt like were on a roll”.
