Our favorite The Vampire Diaries couple Klaus and Caroline might appear together another series!
Following the series finale of TVD, executive producer Julie Plec dropped some hints about future episodes of The Originals and another potential spinoff!
“Obviously our timelines did not match up, so Caroline and Klaus are not coming face to face in this season,” Julie told THR.
She added, “That being said, we do have crossover elements in the upcoming season of The Originals that’s about to start airing and it all brings it back to what I see as a future for either The Originals or another piece of the franchise to launch off of the end of The Originals. So I look forward to being able to play around in that sandbox and see if I can make something of it.”
We sure hope we get to see more of Klaus and Caroline in the future!

Phoebe Tonkin might be on The Originals now, but she first brought Hayley Marshall to life on The Vampire Diaries.
The actress is paying tribute to the series, which concludes with an epic finale tonight, on social media.
“I cannot believe tonight is the last episode of #thevampirediares ever,” Phoebe wrote.
“You guys have been my family for the last 5 years, Julie and Kevin, thank you for inviting me onto the show in season 4, I owe so much to you guys and this incredible opportunity you gave me, my life would most definitely not be the same without it, and I am eternally gratefully.”
She added, “I love you all to pieces, congrats on such an EPIC 8 seasons.”
Phoebe wasn’t the only one either — Kayla Ewell, Claire Holt and Sara Canning all shared their goodbyes too. See them all inside! More Here! »
Go ahead and hit us with all the feels, Nina Dobrev.
In EW‘s final diary entry leading up to The Vampire Diaries finale, Nina, who played Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce, opens up about saying goodbye for a second time to the series.
“This goodbye feels different than it did when I left the first time because I was leaving and the show continued, and now the show’s ending for everyone,” she says. “It feels more final. It’s more almost like closure.”
Nina adds about the feel of the set closing down, “Everyone’s been very nostalgic; it’s a bittersweet ending. I’m very happy that we were able to make it work and that I came back because I really missed the whole family and wanted to be part of the final goodbye. It really has felt like the closure that I needed – that hopefully everybody needs – and I think it ends in such a beautiful way that everyone will be happy.”
What does Nina hope for the future for everyone? “So much has changed for all of us. When I look back at everybody and see how everyone’s changed in such a positive way and grown into such beautiful adults, it’s great and it’s also kind of sad.”
“I’m going to miss everybody but hopefully once everybody moves back to L.A., we’ll continue to hang out.”
Are you ready for the final episode ever of The Vampire Diaries?
“I Was Feeling Epic” airs TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT and you better believe that everyone will be tuning in.
“Without giving too much away, our goal was for every character – living or dead – to give pieces to the window of their future, whether that future is practical or spiritual,” Julie Plec told us in our interview with her.
She adds about fitting it all into just 44 minutes, “It was a really difficult effort, but we did.”
“It’s funny, as much as I wish it could be longer, of course, it actually hits its mark in terms of completing the stories and giving a sense of finish,” she shared. “I’m so proud of it.”

If you’re super bummed about The Vampire Diaries ending, we have a little good news to ease your pain.
We recently chatted with executive producer Julie Plec and it sounds like it’s entirely possible that some of our favorite Mystic Falls residents could head to the French Quarter on The Originals.
“Definitely,” Julie told us. “Matt Davis shows up in episode 8 of this season of The Originals, which starts airing next Friday. And then if we’re lucky enough to do season five, then I think the door is wide open for the appearances of anybody.”
We’ve already seen several of the characters visit New Orleans, but it would be really interesting to see them there after TVD has ended.
