Nick Jonas is keeping the tradition of the red chair alive, even while filming from his own home for The Voice!
The Top 17 contestants all performed from their homes and the four judges – Nick, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton – watched the performances from their own homes.
This is Nick‘s first season as a judge and it seems he is the only one committed to the tradition!
Carson Daly, the host of the show, filmed his portion live from the studio at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

The two singers got to meet coach Nick Jonas‘ brothers Kevin and Joe, as they were their celebrity mentors.
After the performance, Nick made his decision to have Allegra stay on his team. But Nick also decided to SAVE Michael!!
“I know you’re going to bring it in the four-way knockout @michaeltcwill! Thank you @allegramiles for that incredible battle.. Wow! #TeamNick #VoiceBattles,” Nick tweeted after the decision aired.
Going into the battle rounds, the guys from Team Blake were excited to be paired with each other.
Jamal and Levi actually sang together during the audition process. When it was announced who they were being paired with, Jamal said, “I knew it,” after it was announced that they would be battling against each other.
The two sang “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic for their battle round.
After their performance, Blake Shelton picked Levi to continue in the competition.
Mike and Zach got a few pointers during the mentoring session with coach John Legend and guest mentor Ella Mai.
“We have certain expectations that this song needs to be delivered convincingly, and wow, you guys delivered it convincingly,” John told the guys after they took the stage. “Like, no doubt about it.”
After their performance, John made his decision to choose Mike Jerel to stay in the competition.
Team Nick saw the two vocalists perform a duet of Billie Eilish‘s “when the party’s over”.
Joanna and Roderick put on one heck of a show that had all of the coaches in awe.
“Wow… @joannaserenko and @musicbyroderick that was a near-impossible choice. Thank you both for sharing your gift with me and now the world! #TeamNick #VoiceBattles,” Nicktweeted after their performance aired.
After the coaches gave their feedback, Nick made the choice to keep Roderick. Joanna was then stolen by John Legend to stay in the competition.
