Thomas Petrou Says This Is Why Influencers Won't Stop Partying During Pandemic

Thomas Petrou Says This Is Why Influencers Won't Stop Partying During Pandemic

Thomas Petrou is opening up about influencers who have been out partying during quarantine.

The Hype House manager and TikToker recently talked with The New York Times about why they won’t stop partying.

“Our jobs are to entertain people,” Thomas said. “We live with groups of people, and we are all intertwined for work. We can’t put our entire lives on hold for a year and not make any money.”

“We’ve been quarantined, all of us social media influencers hang out every day,” he added. “All of us get tested regularly, and 99 percent of us don’t go home to our families.”

The Hype House held a party in late July that received a lot of negative attention from fans and other internet celebs, including Tyler Oakley, who called out influencers by name in a tweet.

Jake Paul has also defended his decision to be partying during the pandemic.

The Hype Life is the second reality series announced from TikTok stars. Charli and Dixie D’Amelio are also working on their own show with their parents Marc and Heidi. The Clubhouse also reportedly has a series in the works.

Thomas Petrou Reveals What He Would Do If TikTok Was Banned In the US

Thomas Petrou Reveals What He Would Do If TikTok Was Banned In the US

Thomas Petrou is opening up about the possible TikTok ban!

While out with friends on Saturday night (July 11), the 21-year-old Hype House manager dished on privacy issues and what he would do if it was banned in the US.

“I’m gonna be honest, I do think there’s privacy issues. I really hope that a competitor comes along and makes a quality app, and pays us all, and gives us equity to bounce off of TikTok because the app has a lot of problems,” he told TMZ. “Or I hope they can fix it and transfer it to America so that there’s no problems.”

“I don’t know what all the other creators would do, but personally, I’m considered a YouTuber. Like at least for myself, I used TikTok to help blow up and I did a lot,” he added. “I’m an entrepreneur, and I don’t really mind if it gets shut down, wouldn’t have a problem from me. I love YouTube and I want to be able to create the best content for that platform.”

Hype House Co-Founder Daisy Keech Slams Thomas Petrou & Chase Hudson

Hype House Co-Founder Daisy Keech Slams Thomas Petrou & Chase Hudson

Daisy Keech is slamming the Hype House.

The 20-year-old social media star, who invested in the project last year, is calling out her co-founders Thomas Petrou and Chase Hudson in a new YouTube video.

In the 22-minute vid, Daisy revealed that she put down $18,000 to help pay for the Hype House but was regularly not recognized as a founder when making business decisions.

“During the New York Times interview, Thomas and Chase just completely took over. I just kind of kept my mouth shut the entire interview. Didn’t try to take any recognition and just kind of left it to Thomas and Chase. Looking back I really wish I wouldn’t have done that,” Daisy said.

When she confronted the duo, things got worse and they continued to disregard her when discussing who founded the project during interviews. Eventually, Thomas, who had previously been one of Daisy‘s best friends, began to take away access to the Hype House email and social media accounts so that members didn’t know what brand deals were being made.

“We can’t ever have any group decisions, he somehow has authority over everything, he has that because he is the only one with access to all of the social media accounts and emails,” Daisy explained.

Daisy insinuated that Thomas may be keeping money from brand deals he did not tell the members about.

So far, Thomas has responded by posting “lies on lies on lies” on his Instagram story.
