TikTok is Taking Legal Action Against The Trump Administration

TikTok has revealed it’s plans to sue President Trump and his administration!

The popular app will be taking legal action against the current admin over his executive order calling for the sale of US operations.

“Even though we strongly disagree with the Administration’s concerns, for nearly a year we have sought to engage in good faith to provide a constructive solution,” TikTok spokesperson Josh Gartner told TheWrap. “What we encountered instead was a lack of due process as the Administration paid no attention to facts and tried to insert itself into negotiations between private businesses.”

“To ensure that the rule of law is not discarded and that our company and users are treated fairly, we have no choice but to challenge the Executive Order through the judicial system,” he added.

Earlier this month, TikTok’s general manager assured users that it wasn’t going anywhere, despite Trump‘s threaten of a ban.

If you missed it, this company quickly became a frontrunner in taking over the US operations of TikTok.

President Trump Signs Executive Order To Ban TikTok In the U.S. In 44 Days

It’s official – TikTok now has 44 days to find a new owner to continue operations in the United States.

President Trump signed an executive order on Thursday (August 6) to effectively ban the video app.

“TikTok automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users, including Internet and other network activity information such as location data and browsing and search histories,” the order states. “This data collection threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information — potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage.”

Trump has previously threatened the ban, and TikTok executives have assured users that it will not be going anywhere.

Microsoft is in talks to acquire TikTok in order to continue operations in the United States.
