YouTube Duo Dan & Phil Post First New Video Together In 2 Years!

YouTube Duo Dan & Phil Post First New Video Together In 2 Years!

Dan & Phil are back together on YouTube!

Phil Lester, otherwise known as AmazingPhil, shared a new video on his channel on Monday (January 4), and it featured his longtime friend Dan Howell, aka DanIsNotOnFire.

The new video is the visual form of a recent audio broadcast on Stereo, and they shared some life updates, like they bought and designed a house!

Dan also shared an update on himself, as he has been taking a break from YouTube. His last video was his coming out video in June 2019.

“As we know, I have clearly taken a break from regular YouTube uploads. Not that I ever arguably had regular YouTube uploads,” he said. “This was an emotional and spiritual, and personal growth journey that I choose to be on.”

“‘Cause you know, the gay video, everything else, I really felt like I hadn’t really had time to ask, who am I? What do I want? What am I doing? Why?” Dan continued. “And I’m in that period… Well, there were supposed to be a couple of things and then 2020 happened. Let’s move on from 2020, shall we?”

“Look, I know that people miss me, and I appreciate that. And I really value the fact that people support and they care about me, not just like a ‘How are you Dan, what you up to?’ personally, but that they express an interest in wanting more content from me. That makes me feel happy,” he added. “So I just want to say thank you to all of those people. I know that I could probably post more on Instagram and Twitter…”

Fans were even extra excited to see the duo back on camera together, on YouTube. See some reactions below!

Ethan Dolan Calls Out YouTube For Trending Possible Triggering Video

Ethan Dolan Calls Out YouTube For Trending Possible Triggering Video

Ethan Dolan is asking YouTube to be more aware of the videos they promote/push.

The 21-year-old shared a series of tweets calling out Lexi Rivera‘s recent YouTube video, and the platform making it a top trending video for multiple days.

If you didn’t know, Lexi uploaded a new video titled, “I went missing and made them go on a scavenger hunt to find me,” and the thumbnail showed a missing person’s poster.

“Damn ok I saw something the other day that really did not sit right with me. I’ve been hesitant to speak up because I don’t like to be ‘problematic’ but at this point it could be damaging to a lot of people and trigger PTSD and trauma,” he wrote. “I do recognize people make mistakes but accountability and ownership needs to be taken. With such large platforms creators need to realize how their content can affect people. Using “going missing” with a missing poster and friends crying in a thumbnail as clickbait is disgusting.”

“Someone very close to me was kidnapped and went missing for 4 days. This title/thumbnail trending #1 was a huge slap in the face to this person. I can only imagine how damaging this would be for those who never got to see their loved ones again after they went missing,” Ethan added.

Lauren Riihimaki Announces Break From LaurDIY YouTube Channel

Lauren Riihimaki, aka LaurDIY, is taking some time off from her main YouTube channel.

The 27-year-old crafting YouTuber and host made the announcement in a video on Sunday (December 20).

“I am going to be taking a break from this channel. I feel like I’ve had bits and pieces of this conversation over on the vlog channel, in the podcast, and even here and there within the videos of this channel,” she said. “It’s just been so much easier to authentically transition to be myself, I guess, over on the vlog channel and the podcast because those are brand new platforms that I started in 2020.”

“To be honest, I feel a lot of pressure to create a certain style or type of content here, and I just need to take some time to reevaluate the perspective and the mindset that I have towards this channel,” Lauren continued. “To be very clear, I don’t hate the content that I’ve been creating.”

As for how long she’ll be taking her break, she said, “I honestly haven’t put a number to it. It could be anywhere from three weeks to two months.”

Watch Lauren‘s video to see more answers to some questions you might have.
